How is the iPad 4 different from the iPad 3? Confused here. What did they change?

Edit: ah. The a6x. Same graphics power but faster CPU. LOL. I knew it. Definitely not upgrading, CPU is not going to help in the least pushing retina gaming, and there's no GPU upgrade.

From what I understand, it's just more powerful. More of an iPad 3S than an iPad 4.

From what I've gathered there's smaller screen(obviously) and flash according to engadget. To me this is good. Was planning to buy iPad 3 or 2, but this is perfect! Smaller price and I can take it to school!

You are talking about the iPad Mini. The OP was asking about the iPad 4th gen. They're not the same device. The iPad Mini is a shrunken iPad 2nd Gen. The iPad 4th gen is a souped-up 3rd gen (an "S" if you will, with a faster processor and the lightning connector, but everything else pretty much the same).

iPad mini would be a good 2nd iPad, but I'd want the 32 GB, and then we are getting more expensive. I wish they could have squeezed in 32 GB in the base model. Oh well. Maybe I can pick up a refurb 32 GB in a few months. :)

I think the reason they introduced a spec bumped 4th gen iPad is so it would not have a dock connector. But just adding a lightning connector and calling it a day wouldn't have been enough, so they bumped the specs a little.

I want a GPU upgrade. A CPU bump isn't going to help with gaming in the least.

For me, no retina display on the iPad mini = no sale. YMMV, of course! :)

You knew it or I knew it?
Looks to me like my market analysis actually turned out primarily correct.

Those infamous sources will all want so much more than just Christmas cards now.

You knew it was releasing. I knew that if it released it would be paired with a budget chipset.

Explain this. And there is no need to be obnoxious.

Edit: ah. Doubles both GPU and CPU. Well my article I looked at was misleading my mistake.

Always said a5, 8gb unlikely and non retina, check the posts.
Plus a6 variation and lightning for iPad.
I'm pretty sure I had all this called back when you were saying it wouldn't come at all.

A6x has double CPU and GPU by the stats Phil put up on screen.

It will be a similar performance upgrade as 4s to 5.

I'm out now. Busy, busy day.

Don't be so rude. Not everyone watched the press conference, and those who did might not have got every single detail.

Wow, the iPad line got refreshed way too fast this time. The upgrades from the 3rd gen. are pretty limited, meh. Not sure if I want a 4th gen. iPad or iPad Mini. Will have one or the other soon enough though! Crazy times for games and tech. AAA season again.

Ugh. I feel so screwed over by apple. Not even a year since iPad 3 was released.

And looks like this one will have a significant bump in gaming aptitude. I will have to purchase it. I...must...resist...

Any tips on selling my iPad 3?
