Why don't you not rag on them for some missing punctuation, and spend a little more time actually trying to understand what they're saying?

It makes perfect sense to me, and it appears it makes perfect sense to everyone else, too. Maybe you should just take a grumpy nap and get on with the rest of your life ;)

i love the new app store, it's so much easier to see and less cluttered. Also it's set up much more like the computer version which is a plus!

Yeah I dont really type well on my iphone and i dont really see the need to go back and correct my mistakes when the point gets across even when sloppy.

I apologize if my grammar offended you. I failed and will try harder next time!

Ok now i got that out of the way ill make my point.

Its great to see so many different opinions.

Yes there are many other ways to find the games since you cant on the IPAD.
Even the Itunes on the Mac or PC has everything even the top 100

Ironically you shouldnt need to go back and look at itunes on your computer.
At the very least i think it should have everything the full Itunes store has right on the IPAD

As a consumer i buy a lot of games... ALOT. I mean that doesn't seem like much to ask. I like the computer version a lot and buy stuff all the time from it. The ipad is supposed to be a computer but you still have to use your big computer to browse?

A s a dev, the thing that bothers me is apple sent an email to Devs with a deadline saying be part of the grand opening. They were able to get that huge number to brag about but, then hid 97% of the apps so the big guys could buy the front page and not have competition with the huge number. Smells fishy to me.

I totally agree, as a developer, the new app store format on the iPad pretty much blows out of the water months of figuring out how to promote an app. The goal of pushing an app into the top 100 within its category is totally pointless in the new format. It really seems like it is stacked against indie developers. I really hope Apple brings back the top paid, top free, and new release lists for all the various categories/sub-categories.

So, does anybody have any thoughts on how to promote an app in the new format app store? I've been thinking about this, but haven't come up with anything yet. It seems like you're just at Apple's mercy right now.

I am not sure if it is best to ask in this thread or look some where else.

I just received my ipad this morning. What is the best way to navigate the store? I know that there are more ipad games out there but unless I know the name, I am having problems finding them.

Also, am I missing a way to view all of the apps (games) for both the ipad and the iphone? I can search by name of the game or publisher and find them but I can't seem to find a way to just look for them like I used to on the iphone.

    iPad App Store

I agree that the iPad app store ON the iPad blows. You can't access the full library of games per category, you can't manage or even view your wish list, and Apple seems to update the spoon-fed apps on their rarely thus far.

I hate having to get out my MacBook to effectively browse for iPad apps. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of even having the app store on your iPad to some (fairly major) degree. Very frustrating. Hope it's fixed soon.

For those saying they like the simplified interface, fine. You can leave the UI the way it is and add tabs that let you view all the games in a particular category if you choose to look at them that way. So in addition to the "See All" next to the "New and Noteworthy" section (which lets you simply see all of the spoon-fed aps) you could have another "Literally See All" tab with a simple way to organize those apps (by release date, popularity, ect). Not too hard...since that's how it is on the freaking iTunes store (non-iPad) anyways.

    Ah, I feel better now.

I know this is an old thread, but seriously I can't believe Apple still haven't fixed their store yet. Browsing in the iPad AppStore absolutely sucks. The UI is also wasting quite a lot of screen space for useless control bars and arrow buttons. Even the top charts seemed like it gets stuck while trying to "show more".

It is almost like I am on the Android Market... Perhaps Apple should have their own Game Store as a separate app? Either way the iPhone's app store is a lot more functional, even in a smaller screen.

    STILL Stinks

The app store on iPad has been horrible since it's inception. Now, several years in, it's still a crashy mess. It devours memory, and then dies after browsing a handful of pages of apps.

These guys had ONE app to get right and they're still not there. If I were in charge of Apple software development, I'd fire the entire sorry team responsible for this travesty.

*lol* yeah the iPad app store sucks

besides apps being hard to find I always marveled at the lack of swipe to get to change between pages and missing search tab.

Whatever team did this was probably told to come up with something fresh completely ignoring any apple guidelines for a user friendly designs.

Apple knows people can't be trusted to pick their own games you will download only what they tell you to.

In seriousness though I think it's obvious apple have some agreements with the bigger company's, if it wasn't obvious before it became so when Capcom was able to completely remove all the negative reviews from the Capcom Arcade application.

I'm pretty sure all the big boys have special agreements and it's probably in Apples own interest as well to try and attract gamers with games they have heard off.
