im looking at the ipad and thinking how i can make one fit in my house. laughs. anyhow. im dreaming thinking we would get photoshop. so what are alternative art programs that maybe able to utilize the ipads larger screen. also, what about stylist. right now i love to mess around with photoshop 3 and my bamboo pad. the stylist they use works well for me. anything similar for the i devices? right now the only thing iv have found was big.. the head was like the size of a bb and sorta rubber material. thanks, chris, p,s yeah i suck at art but its fun and great way to waste time, and the tablets that are made for art like i want to use the ipad are major expensive last time iv checked.
if you listened to the podcast allen from bolt creative talked about this with the gang. A stylus would/will be great but it wont be pressure activated. IE with some stylus' you can push harder for a thicker line like what Allen has. where has on the iPad that wont work unless the stylus pen has like a spring
yeah my stylist is like that. but to be honest i can live with out that. ijust need a decent tip/software. chris.
I would love to use Photoshop on an iPad! the pressure senstive thing doesn't bother me at all. It's not like I'll be trying to make real artwork on it (please don't)Even an app like Brushes would be amazing. One thing I'm REALLY looking forward to is using apps like Beatmaker and Noise.io (they're music apps, though). BTW, Stylus: Stylist:
looks like brushes will be on the ipad. Brushes iPad One of the most critically acclaimed iPhone apps is Steve Sprang’s Brushes. Brushes is a “touch control based MS Paint/Photoshop” if you want to call it. Well, Brushes iPad will be readily available for the iPad upon launch. http://theappera.com/2010/01/28/ipad-apps-brushes-ipad-ny-times-mlbcom-and-more-apps/ iv not used it so i dunno. if it has layers thats all i really need. now i need to find a stylus i guess. yeah i play some guitar and have a pod.. and record on my pc. i could see some of the mixer software being fun on the larger screen ( the ipad would be perfect for reading my tab/music off of and best yet.. it will fit on my music stand.. wow..... instead of my monitor...) ooooo great idea. ( the more itink of things i can use the ipad for.. the more i think.. kick butt..) for some reason i see my self finding a place for a ipad. ill just get the 16gig one tho.. wifi.. ill only use it at home.. i would get a larger one but lets face it why spend more money when gen 2 ipad will be better. now.. i just need gen 4 ipod to come out so i can upgrade my out dated gen 2 32gig job.... so i can buy it then save my pennies for the ipad. by then im sure lots of people will have ipads so i can get a better feel of what the device is. im hoping the people who get theirs first share there opnions the pros and cons with the TA community.. its only fair. chris.
I think the stylus you are referring to is the PoGo. It has an aluminum shaft and a soft tip. So the electricity from your hand is transferred down to the screen. I think for serious artist we would need things like wacom's pens which are sensitive to pressure, angle, and velocity (the airbrush tool would be great as well) But with the iPad capacitive screen it won't happen unless they (wacom) add a rechargeable battery into pens to create the charge coming from your finger.
I got to "aluminum shaft" and gave up. The schoolboy-esque smile that crept over my face made me realize I don't deserve to be engaging in a social public discussion.
I don't think I'd really be sold on the idea of pressure sensitivty in general. I would love (will love) to use the iPad to make sketches and mockups for work and to jot ideas down, but I doubt I'd ever want to use it for anything else. What do you think the chances are of seeing CAD or 3D modeling on this
I don't think you'll be seeing Photoshop CS as we know it on our computers on an iPad. I'm still hoping for Apple to build an iTablet with a dvd slot built in and external hard drive so I could have Photoshop CS.
just found this article.. will appple rename it to itablet? ooo the joys of trade mark names. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100129/tc_afp/usitcompanycomputermediainternetapplefujitsu the adult diaper could lead to some interesting photoshops. heh chris.

yes that helps. now i just need to find a good stylus. the ones i have are crappy for my ipod but work for some break out games where there is no room for my finger which i prefer. so i added all these to my wish list. now im on a mission to find a decent stylus. probably not one made yet but maybe with the ipad they will. once again.. thats a great set of tools. ill be able to make my crappy art with chris.
cant say iv heard of there software but from your reactions.. must be good will keep a eye out for it. chris.
