    Nope. And here's why:

    A) Apple has never been a huge supporter of gaming. It's true that recently, through some appearance at some of their keynotes, they've been pushing it a bit more but it's not one of their priorities.
They would rather put an iPad Pro that is used by a lot of professional to do more stuff with more screen estate.

    B) Logitech and some manufacturers have already began teasing about some controllers so there is just no way they're gonna sit on it until march.

Also a 13" screen is never happening. It's too big and adds just another piece of fragmentation to the AppStore.

Well the rumors have been quite persistent lately so i'm sure they're at least considering/testing it.

Okay maybe it won't be geared towards gamers as the selling point, but to the professionals who use powerful apps. And the gaming bit coming in as second priority. Making this years iPad the most powerful iPad yet. Just need a killer slogan to go with it. But I'm sure the "pro" version will definitely have the 12/13" screen... It's all possible with the thinner bezel design in the new iPads released yesterday.

Forgot to mention the other driving force to go with the new iPad will be a gold color finish, which wasn't included in yesterday's iPad models.

Yeah. I'm finding the low memory of my iPhone 4S a nightmare since iOS 7. It's practically incapable of keeping two apps in memory at once.

1gb is fine now for an ipad, but if I still want it going well in a couple of years it'll need more. I think benchmarks and the ram are the deciding factors for whether I upgrade from my 3rd gen iPad.

(For the iPhone I'm waiting for a 128gb model).

    Swallow it.

Well, I'm gonna grab an air which should help ensure that a better iPad will launch soon. This is coming from someone who grabbed the 3 only to see the 4 rolled out shortly thereafter

Still seems like a pretty big pill to swallow. The Surface Pro is not exactly setting the world on fire.

Well that's a different case altogether. Bad marketing, OS issue, Confusion between the pro and the RT, small ecosystem of apps...

i doubt there is a ipad pro anywhere close.

the ahead of shedule release of the ipad 4 was a one time change to get their hole line into the holiday quarter, not much else.

i'm pretty sure the release windows you see now on their hard & software is what you can expect for the next years.

as for rumors.. well they are rumors and mostly highly imaginary ones.

at least people like to repeat the same rumours over and over again year after year and maybe one day they might get lucky.

well i for sure wait for ifixit to tear the new ipad apart to see if the mini2 has really the same components as the bigger brother and might try one of the tiny ones since i skipped the first mini for obvious reasons.

The 50 inch Apple TV, and iwatch are also heavily rumored. I'm sure Apple has prototyped larger iPad's but that doesn't mean they'll ever come into existence.

iPad's will always be a device of compromise between power, size, weight, and battery life. If you don't like it you should buy a desktop computer. Of course Apple did this to themselves touting the quad core graphics on the iPad 3 and 4's.

The form factor of the Mini is what i've come to love most about the device.

I've had a 64GB mini from launch and i'm having a tough time deciding whether to upgrade to Retina or not... it might be a no-brainer for many, but for people like me who haven't used an iPad with Retina display before, I guess it doesn't matter too much. Most games and applications look beautiful on the screen, and run fine with the limited RAM (with exceptions like XCom, of course).

you never tried a retina device? in a shop? at your friends?

well it a very big step up in image fidelity and going back to SD will feel odd.

maybe the mini mitigates the issue a bit due to its smaller sice but that also means retina on the mini will look even better than on the big ones

The difference is that the iPhone4 was free (penny point) with contract last year, and Apple has developed a trend of dropping those devices from their store when the new model releases. They gave it the update because it has the same hardware as the iPad2 and Mini1 (sans lightning port). There was a very limited amount extra iOS7 design needed for them to include the 4.

No reason for the 4 to go obsolete any time soon. They're still selling the 2, and the 4 is far, far more advanced than that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 4 or Air replaces the 2 next year at this time as the lower price model, and stays in that position for an equal duration as the 2 has.

Regardless, the 4 probably has until at least when the 7th generation comes out before it becomes borderline unusable. The Air has certainly surpassed it, but the A6x chip with retina and lightning will remain competent tech for at least another two years. Granted, with every new iteration, there are going to be features that the 4 can't provide that the newer models do. But that's how technology works.

I'd love to see a much bigger iPad (with iOS as OS) with a bit higher specs. There are lots of productivity applications and big players behind it all to justify a bigger screen and everything that's comes with that (less portability etc).

As for the iPad Air, the latest rumors are 1gb RAM (some Apple customer support dude apparently said 1gb in some conversation with a customer). I pre ordered the 128gb, and if Apple goes with 1gb for the third time I'll probably just return the thing. 1gb makes absolutely no sense whatsoever from a users perspective, there are so many powerful productivity apps that really needs a lot more RAM, and iOS being an unstable POS system when it comes to NOT crashing primary apps due to poor RAM handling only adds to it. But Apple being Apple ugh :/

Man, I just sold my iPad 3 and am planning on picking up the iPad air, but was really hoping the memory would be increased. Guess we just have to wait till 11/1 to see. I think I'm gonna have to get an Air either way though as i don't can't stand gaming on the small iPhone 5 screen
