Hey guys, I got the white ipod touch 4g today and I upgraded from a 3G. I notice that the ipod is a bit slow. I downloaded system manager which I had on my 3G touch. It said I have 90 mb of available ram, after restarting and clearing my multi tasking bar. This quickly went to around 10-20 while using skype. However, on my 3G, which supposedly has the same amount of ram, restarting it and clearing the multitask bar gives me around 150-160 free ram. What's going on?

No idea I can still clear about 150mb roughly on my third gen with IOS 5 maybe the fourth is just using up a lot more ram with the retina icons and screen.

I think Apple screwed us by making a retina device with only half the RAM of the iPhone 4G as I swear that is the source of all sorts of obnoxious crash bugs, even pre-iOS 5.

One of the main reasons why I shelled out for an iPhone4 instead of upgrading my 2nd gen iPod Touch to a 4th gen. More RAM is never a bad thing.

BTW, Memory Info still works great on iOS5 - it's just about 4 times slower than it was when I got it a year or so ago, when it was an essential tool for the aforementioned 2nd gen device. (I hate having to reboot! :p)
