I too read that, but haven't tried it out. I actually forgot about it until you mentioned it just now!
Just had an idea. Is anyone interested in a what does not work on iOS 7 thread? I think it might be useful
Seriously? Give it a bit of time. I don't think apple will push the updates the second it shows up in AppStore. Especially considering the load on their servers with iOS 7 and a new iphone activations right now. I didn't see any updates available yesterday. Today four apps were updated automatically. Again, seriously? They're not rotting in the update tab. That's a list of recently updated apps. Its not a bug. Its a feature. With the automatic updates, I really like having that list available.
I just had a read online and it seems its for retina enabled iPhone only apps will look better on non retina iPads, so it's only effects iPad 2 and iPad mini if your trying to play a iPhone only app.
I think that's only on the iPad 2 and iPad Mini. The iPad 3 and 4 already used retina graphics for iPhone apps.
So nobody else has noticed that graphics that were retina enabled in ios6 are no longer retina in ios7? At least in some games. Even games like Mikey Shorts that say they have been updated for ios7. Weird. I'm on an iPad 3 and so maybe this this ipad related.no one else seems to be talking about it, and so I was wondering if I did to restore my ipad again.
Mikey Shorts was never retina enabled on iPad. Hooks was though. You're probably just imagining things.
are big games such as asphalt, infinity blade and other gameloft /ea games have performance issues? And has any people's saves been deleted after upgrading to iOS 7?
Hmm... I just remember the text and such being more clear. Oh well. Anyway there are ones like boost 2 that were for sure retina and are no longer. I notice it mostly with the text with that one though. I haven't downloaded much games yet. Probably won't. If it's a big problem i'm sure others will be all on it anyway...
Yeah i've had that issue a few times, i search for a game i've bought before, go to download it and nothing happens. After a few minutes i finally get the 'enter your password' popup and then it'll install. I'm sure this will be fixed but yeah its frustrating at the mo
Bugs I've had: - App Store Updates: It seems that when I turned on my automatic downloads on accident and went into the App Store, and my Updates tab didn't have the number anymore nor did it contain any updates. It said all of the updates were up-to-date. But I know for a fact I had over 60 updates still waiting. - iTunes Radio has crashed twice on me so far. It seems to happen when I'm listening to a radio station and add a new one at the same time. It has crashed twice when I do that. - For some reason, some of my albums were split in two? The best example I have is my Deus Ex: Human Revolution score, which was cut into two albums, one with the first half of the tracks, and the other with the other half I think. - Visually, when I send a text, the box kind of looks wonky... it's hard to explain, but it doesn't look smooth when a text goes off. The keyboard field disappears, but the box where the text goes is invisible and you can see the message you sent (green or blue depending on if you're on iMessage or not, antirespectively [awesome new word I just made up]) shows up in said invisible window, so it looks really unprofessional. - My phone rebooted once on its own. I'm not sure what I was doing, but I think it's called a hard crash, meaning it wasn't just the app that crashed but the phone as well. I think those are the only bugs I've found thus far. Things I don't like: - No translucency on my drop-down and swipe-up menus, but that's because I'm on a 4S. It looks really jarring though - Making pictures as backgrounds is a lot less forgiving. I want to put this picture as my background: http://i.imgur.com/mjTf5AC.jpg ...but it forces me to only put up either Tardar Sauce OR Pokey. I can't zoom it out or choose to crop it in a nice way... I have to choose one or other. Is there a way to change it so that it will let me put that whole picture up as my background? My parallax effect is not working very well so I would rather disable that if it meant I could have better backgrounds D: - While a song is playing on the lockscreen, the time is way too small (it's only in the bar with your signal bars and bluetooth icon, etc.) and there's no way to see the date still. Is there a way to change that? One of my issues with the previous lockscreen music thing is that it showed the time but not the date. Now they don't even show the time! D: - I wish I could turn on 3G iTunes Radio without turning on the 3G automatic downloads. I want the Radio, but I don't want the downloads! D: Otherwise, I'm loving this update. Coming from iOS 5, it's a huge upgrade But there are still a few tiny issues, the most frustrating for me being the background. EDIT: Just turned off "Increase Contrast" and my menus are now translucent. I also found that when listening to music on the lockscreen, just tap the Home button once and it brings up the normal size time and the date! So never mind about those issues!
Are you sure you actually had updates and it wasn't just a false alarm that corrected itself when you open the app? I think a lot of people have been getting these, possibly related to server overload. Sounds like a tagging issue to me. If it wasn't like that before, maybe iOS7 reads different tags to iOS6, but I don't see why it would. I don't think you can check/fix them on the phone, unless there's an app for it, so you'll have to send them over to iTunes and take a peek. I get translucency for Notification Center on my iPhone 4, but it's so slight that it's practically pointless. I'd rather it just went fully opaque. My biggest gripe with the parallax effect is that is enlarges your images in order to achieve it, so if you're a perfectionist and your pictures are the exact resolution to fit the screen, they're going to look slightly worse. Maybe there's a larger resolution we can use instead, or maybe it'll just shrink it down to native res and then blow it up again... which would suck. Anyone know the answer to this? I digress. That photo is square and your screen isn't, so the only way you'll get both cats on is if you have borders at the top and bottom. Easy to do in Photoshop (or almost any PC photo editor). It'd only take about a minute if you just want a plain colour for the borders. Edit: Thanks for the Increase Contrast tip, I've just turned it on
Yes, I'm sure. I rarely ever update my apps, so I know that number was true. Plus, when I exited out of the App Store, closed the app, and re-entered, it showed all the available updates again. For real. Hm, you may be right. The score for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, though, shouldn't have an issue with tags, though. Everything is the same, I think. I will indeed take a peek at iTunes, though! I see. In my opinion, the full opaque thing just doesn't look right to me. It takes me out of the experience, for sure. But I'm glad you prefer it, and I'm glad you enjoyed that tip, haha I am not a fan of the parallax at all now that I see it on my 4S. I'm not sure if it's intentionally not as sensitive on older devices, but it looked way smoother and more significant on all the videos I saw In Settings -> General -> Accessibility, there should be an option called "Reduce Motion," right under "Increase Contrast." I'm not sure if that helps with your resolution issue, but it's worth looking into? Oh I see. All right. I guess that makes sense with the style of iOS 7, but I never had issues with it before. I spoiled myself, I guess, since I always had pictures that didn't match the resolution! D: But thanks for the tip. Do you know if there are any apps that would let me do that? I don't have Photoshop and the image editing stuff I have on my Mac doesn't make sense at all, so having an iPhone app to help me with it would be glorious.
For the song playing on lock screen and the time being small and date missing, I have a way to tell the time/date! When music is playing, have the lock screen open with the album and press the home button once. It should display the time and date along with the album artwork.
One thing the App Store is desperately missing are good photo editing apps that actually let you define image size by pixels. Everything aims to be so user-friendly they only let you drag and guess by eye, which isn't helpful in some circumstances. I whipped these up though, in case one of them suits you: Fade to black: http://i.imgur.com/aoRYpog.jpg Liquify: http://i.imgur.com/oilJ8rD.jpg
Thanks a lot for the tip True that, it does seem like all the photo software I've toyed around with has been simplified to the point where exact size is not an option. Do you have any app suggestions that still do stuff like what you just did with those pics? Thank you a lot for those, by the way. You're awesome The Grumpy Cat and her brother are quite grateful, I'm sure
