I agree with you on the keyboard shift keys. It was much easier to see if it was active on ios 6, and now it is more difficult with the black. Maybe they will add an option to turn it back, but I doubt it. The folders should definitely use the entire screen too. We shouldn't have lost space essentially with the new update. It should have left folders the same, but added the scrolling feature.
You can still access your albums in the normal way. Just ignore the crappy Moments thing like I'm doing.
A friend of mine installed it on his iPhone 4 and regrets it. Says it's much slower. I'm afraid to update now. Maybe I'll just wait until I can eventually afford to upgrade to a new iPhone. Problem is that I want a 64 GB iPhone 5s. LOL.
Does anybody know how I can disable the camera button and swipe down notification centre from my lock screen (on iPad) I've got a pass code lock on and they didn't used to be there? I don't like having things accessible from my lock screen. On a plus side I seem to be getting quite a bit more battery life with iOS7. Usually I'd say I get about 1hour for around 10% battery but so far today I've had 3.5 hours from 19% battery, So that's a good thing.
Gotta say that I'm really liking iOS 7. Spent the day playing around with it on my 4S and iPad 3. Only problem I've encountered is that Words with Friends no longer works in landscape mode on the iPad.
It's kinda mixed for me. From a reboot, the initial start up feels laggy, but once I start using apps and they begin saving into RAM, switching around and general use is fine.
To the battery concerns - there a several new options that seem quite possible to be battery hogs. The potential biggest one to me is the "background app refresh". It is located in the general section right under usage. Says it lets apps refresh themselves in the background regardless of the phone state. I turned it off. There are also things that automatically "share" information and things like photos, etc and that will suck your battery. I went through all the settings and turned off a lot of things i will almost never use but seem to be designed to keep your phone costantly either sending or recieving data. I like control panel, but dont like many of the color choices for things and hope for either change, or ability to customize.
I'm not too impressed by iOS 7 so far. Installed it on my iPod 5g, and tested all my games. Plenty of games that ran silky smooth before are much choppier now, and the games below don't work at all. Blazing Star: Sideways graphics, Can't start a game Bounce On: Sideways graphics, Can't start a game Clash force: Sideways graphics, Can't start a game Contre Jour: Instacrash Devil's attourney: Instacrash Doom Classic: Sideways graphics, Can't start a game Horn: Never finishes loading League of Evil 3: Crashes as soon a you start a level. Plasma Sky: Instacrash Polyroll: Sideways graphics, Can't start a game Sonic 4 Episode 2: Instacrash Most of them probably won't be updated, but hopefully some will.
Any time there's a major OS update there's going to be compatibility issues. The app devs need to update their apps. If they don't you'll know what to do if they ever try to sell a new app.
Been about 24 hours with it. I'm enjoying the update, feels fresh and new despite being on a iphone5 and ipad3 and not a brand new device. My only dislikes? . I cant stand the hazey bar behind my icons on the main bottom bar. Its ignorable in portrait mode, but in horizontal, it just makes things look cluttered to my eyes. I miss the 3 dimensional 'look' of ios6's bottom bar. . I miss the poker board gamecenter heh.
They need to iron out of few creases but this is really slick experience. Love how it all feels connected
I knew as soon as I saw it announced that this would be a redundant page for anyone in a town or village!
I seem to have somehow lost a LOT of my photos and important videos unless I just can't find them. So how do I get things back in order with this moments thing that groups my pics with the date taken? I had things nice & tidy in my folders, but now everything's a mess! Dammit!!! Screwed me completely up here! NOT happy with this at all! Strange. For the first time, I'm liking Android and feeling a lot more comfortable with my Note ll than my iPad and the IOS! It just ain't right, I tell ya! So bummed and I absolutely hate this unnecessary confusion that I don't need.
I don't know what happened with your device but on my ipad all my albums/folders, photos, videos are still there just as I left them in iOS6. As far as ios7 is concerned, I don't really have any issues with it. Seemed a bit strange and disorienting at first but grew on me very quickly. Not going back to iOS 6 even if that was an option. And offtopic but I really needed to rant away on this, note II is a piece of sh#t IMHO. I have one for about 5 months now. I'd exchange this for an iPhone 5s in a heartbeat. It's too big for a pocketable gadget and too small to be significantly better than the (supposedly) tiny iphone. I have the ipad almost all the time I have the note II with me and there's no reason I'd bother with the "tiny" note II instead of the ipad. The few occasions I'm travelling and don't have the ipad with me, I can easily do with the iPhone and it'll actually be a better experience than note II since I don't need two hands to use it. Can't understand people's obsession with bigger screen. A couple of inches don't make that much of a difference. If anything, it makes the device more difficult to use. Really hope apple doesn't increase the size of the iPhone any more. Atleast not until we have flexible displays available. /rant
Updated last night. Mostly like it, except the Game Center icon doesn't match any of the other Apple app icons, and they got rid of coverflow. I loved coverflow... At least give us options... Also like the new look. Surprised though doesn't seem like the type of thing Apple would go for. Too stylish for them(except game center. That is atrocious looking).
