Wait, what are we talking about here? I've got a perfect 2048x2048 image as my wallpaper, but when I turn motion on it gets enlarged in order for the effect to work. When I turn it off it goes back to being the same as it was in iOS 6.

It still zooms in a little when I open folders, but I can deal with that.

    Look out your window.
I have motion turned off too but I can't get my wallpapers to zoom out. They're all enlarged.

What ratio are your wallpapers? And are you using your iPad in portrait I landscape?

If your wallpaper and iPad have the same orientation then it won't let you zoom all the way out because then when you rotate your iPad the wallpaper won't cover the whole screen.

It was like this in iOS 6 too. This is why any iPad wallpaper you find is always square.

  7. In ios 6, if I had a landscaped picture, it would use landscape regular size for when you had it in landscaped mode.

    In ios 7, you can't.

For example, if you take a landscape picture of a person and want to use it as a wallpaper, it zooms in, cutting their heads off.

In ios 6, it was fine.

It's too bad, I hope they add this in later.

    Landscape.

I don't know what the actual ratio any of my wallpapers are because it has never mattered. I have always been able to adjust the zoom/scale however I wanted.

    Yeah. But I could before.

No it wasn't. In iOS6, I could fit the image to my screen (in landscape). When I rotated to portrait it would adjust and zoom in. I didn't care, though, because I never use portrait.

This was my iPad's lock screen before updating.

The picture was scaled all the way left with the schedule fitting my screen perfectly from top to bottom. I wish I had a screenshot but I don't.

    Here it is now.

And that's with motion off. With it on, I can't even scale left far enough to see the schedule.

One of my recent wallpapers I had before updating. (I had better examples but they're rather NSFW)

    That wallpaper now.

None of her head was cut off in iOS6

My wallpaper prior to that one

The entire logo fit inside screen, whiskers and all.

Wow, look how much better iOS 6 looks. First, the background does not fit anymore in ios 7, so it zooms it out. And second, the menus only show 9 items whereas in ios 6, it showed 20! I know there is nested folders now and all, but wow, wish I could see at least 20 icons per folder like before and also the background wouldn't zoom in.

And sadly, so many of these games won't run, lost progress, or other weird things like not going into retina.

Two of the best two icade games, plasma sky and blazing star don't even work anymore....

  10. Wow, Asphalt 8 plays so poorly now compared to before. Something is wrong with the graphics, guess it is not retina anymore on the ipad 3 since ios 7.

And it stutters and now has framerate problems.

Wow, ios 7 is so disappointing.

I don't think Asphalt 8 was ever retina on iPad 3, it was a big topic of discussion when the game was released. That iPad was too weak to run the game at retina res.

I thank the stars that all my installed games still work bar one app which I was planning on deleting anyway. The only problem I've come across is sometimes a game or app will be slow to shut down when I hit the home button, taking sometimes 15 seconds, nothing is responsive during tis time., not sure if that's the apps fault or my iPads though.

My iPad charger cable doesn't seem to work now...

Plugged into a wall = no charging.

Plugged into PC = recognition by computer, full sync capabilities.

Is this something to do with iOS7 blocking faulty/fake cables? My cable ends are a little frayed - perhaps that is the cause?

I've had problems with one cable as one end is like you say very frayed. Have to keep moving about as it seems to only like one position

Is your power cable an after market one? Apple disabled usage of third party cables with iOS 7...

It's an official Apple one, came in the iPad box.

For what it is worth, my 3GS charging cable is beginning to show signs of dying. Sometimes my 3GS will pop up an error message to caution that charging is not supported with that accessory. My cable is a bit bent.

That doesn't really look better, although to be fair it doesn't help that you've chosen to use a gods-awfully ugly wallpaper.

The current appearance of my iOS 7, which is rather attractive:

This is one of the only reasonable, non-trivial complaints I've seen about iOS 7 based on my experience with it running on a 4th-gen iPad and an iPad mini, but it is a major issue, to the point that it suggests such out-of-character incompetence at Apple as to be simply baffling. There's no reason an iPad should be using a huge space-wasting 3x3 layout for apps, absolutely none whatsoever, and it's just embarrassing.

I fully expect this to be addressed somewhere down the line, however, and hopefully that will be sooner rather than later.

This is something the app developers need to sort out, though, not Apple, and is something that has happened with every major iOS release.

I think the 9 icons is a design decision - they wanted the icons you see to match with what you see in the folder icon, which has 9 icons. I'm not saying it was a good design decision, only that I am not sure it's going to change, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Psh. Whoever deleted my Grumpy Cat picture is just jealous of the Goddess of Grump. :p

Sorry to hear that you're hating iOS 7 so much, Connector. I guess I consider myself lucky that I'm enjoying it so dang much.
