    Boo, Calendars are now USELESS.

If I disable calendars from iCloud I can't add or remove any events whatsoever.

Honestly, that warrants a huge "What the F***!?" with an interrobang.

Two hours of downloading... Keep in mind, this is the SECOND time I'm doing it because the update failed horribly on my other computer... And it gets to 668.7 MB... Connection times out and fails. Now I HAVE to spend ANOTHER two goddamn hours downloading this stupid update.

Man I've never been so frustrated with the iPhone before.

Apparently it would have been smarter for us to wait a few days because a lot of the errors and being caused by Apple's servers being overloaded by people trying to update.

    Successfully installed!

Edits: Wow, speed has increased drastically. Messages doesn't seem like it's going to be very helpful though since you have to know the contact's email.

Can't put Newsstand into a folder. I'm really liking the speed of the iPod though. It feels so much smoother now even with over 200 apps synced. Holding down an app now only takes a little more than a second to register. Used to take much longer.

Liking the new GC changes/features. Reminders..meh.

    Notification Center is f**king brilliant.

Going to have to be careful with iCloud though. Not sure if I want to use it. I have two 4th gen. iPods and an iPad 2 attached to my account along with a MacBook Pro and a Sony Vaio. Definitely don't want any kind of data mixing going on.

You can change your name on the device now, excellent.

Software updates straight onto the device for future updates on the iOS.

    Nice Twitter integration.

    Picture editing!

Can't wait to see what they do with GC asynch for games.

    IOS 5 Fail

Sooo... this morning i wake up and turn my computer on to download iOS 5. I go to download it and my whole phone got bricked. I went to the apple store and they couldnt give me a new one until next week, and they couldnt fix it.
A week without my iphone is going to suck. It is my way for directions, getting all my information on basically everything, and everything else that has to do with my life. I dont know how i can survive.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Well the download speed has increased quite a bit, so hopefully that's a good sign.

How is everyone liking the upgrade?

    Right behind you.
I absolutely love the new notification system, the lost screen rocks now, with the new notifications and camera access.

About the faster camera access, you don't need to enter your passcode to get to it, but the device remains in 'lock" while you use the camera, and if you press the home button, it takes you to the passcode screen.

    Very cool.

Also little things like being able to change the name of the device ON the device make it a great update IMO.

...It finished downloaded. Processed. Then promptly gave me the "Network connection timed out" and I have to re-download it again.

    For the FOURTH time.

I've been downloading this patch since 12 am. It's now 7:21.

    FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

    Fair enough.

You can send pictures and videos through Message. That's pretty awesome. Looks like it'll have some use after all. With it was compatible with GC though. Not sure I want to random people for their email addresses.

I was wrong, I don't know why my iPod didn't allow access to applications while syncing before. It does now!

Sweet! Now you can delete apps mid-download!
Holy crap! Downloading is so much faster! :D
Jeez, so many small tweaks and pet-pieve-fixes! I'm loving all of it!

Wifi reception and overall speed is significantly improved. NC and the unobtrusive notifications are seriously amazing. Awesome iOS.

    Hey all,
Managed to get iOs 5 running just now on my iphone 4, using windows 7.
Downloaded it without updating it, then after things cooled off (approx. 5hrs after release) I ran the update. Took no longer than maybe 30mins.

Wondering - is anyone else having issues running apps? I go to use one and it just exits out immediately.
Fixed - I restarted my iphone, and just sync the phone again. All works now.
    Good luck to everyone else.
Haven't tried too many of the features yet, looks good though :)

Edit: Saved game data still saved. Zenonia, Tiny Tower, Angry Birds, etc.
