So you know how it said "the update may take one hour or more? They weren't kidding. That's how long it'll take me to fix my bloody phone now. Error 3004
God I've been at this since around noon and I'm still trying to get this crap sorted out. I really, really pray that iOS5 is worth this headache in the end.
It should be if you get a lot of notifications, and/or use your device for reminders. Bah, less than a centimeter left on the progress bar for App Restoring. @-@
The download wasn't too bad in comparison to restoring apps afterwards. This is taking forever!!! (only 32gb as well!)
I was talking with an android user about the new update and the painful errors we're getting cause of the server over capacity and shit, and his reply was, while shaking his head, "Shit never would have happened if Jobs was still alive." hahahahaha
You can choose not to install it, even though it's integrated you still have to download the twitter app.
Man it's gonna be left on overnight to restore my apps ,is this right never had any other major updates take this long.
Is there anyway to put newsstand in a folder? I won't have any use for it but I don't want it by itself on the home screen.
Going to go without any knowledge of a for sure answer on this, and just say that I am sure you can. If it's anything like iBooks anyways... lol.
Anyone else getting this error? The iPhone cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable. Edit: Successfully installed by temporarily disabling my anti-virus software. Spoke too soon, got another error and now my phone don't work, excellent. Edit: By George I think I've got it, watching the little install bar on my iphone going closer to complete, (fingers crossed).
God damn... right after it extracts the current software, it says "the update server is not responding". Any help?
I keep trying but it doesn't go into a folder and in fact doesn't even open like a regular app would.
HALP!!! Do I need to backup (done), disconnect, MANUALLY WIPE, reconnect, update iOS, and THEN restore from backup? I'M SO CONFUSED -____________-
bmdino: Looks like the same problem I was having. I had to temporarily disable my anti-virus/firewall software and that fixed the problem. Just don't forget to turn that stuff back on!
