      Also i think the home button is sort of a significant, feature as well as an icon for ipods so i doubt they will.

      The latest version of iTunes says that 4.3 is out. Has anyone tried it yet?

      Nothing different. The search thing got changed a little bit (gray color background) but thats it.

      Hmm, the patch notes mentioned 4.3, but it's still telling me that I have the latest version. Oh well, doesn't seem like I'm missing too much.

      does anyone know what the ipod touch 3rd generation 8gb model will get?

      maybe finally multitasking, or home screen changing ability?

      No. There is no third gen eight gig, you have a second gen instead. Apple never said that the 8 gig was a third gen device. The most you'll get from iOS 4.3 is airplay enhancements, as 4.3 is mostly for the iPad.

      It supports iPod touch 3rd and 4th gen, iPad, iPhone 3GS and 4 (only AT&T at the moment in the US).

      Can you finally have your saved files intact even if you delete an app? If not, Apple really sucks at updating this thing.

      No. To do that you need to jailbreak and use AppBackUp. I would expect that to come as part of GC as well.
