I'm waiting a few more minutes for it to maybe come out. if not, i'll get it first thing in the morning.
No one knows. It would have been nice if it had been released by midnight, but it doesn't appear like that's going to be the case. Go to bed, and it should be available by the time you wake up.
I find that sooo weird and interesting that you are in the middle of your day while I am going to bed. Have fun with the rest of your day.
hmmm my ipod in itunes says you have the newest version. Ehm, No! I want OS4!!! Is there any ispw file for download ready already!?
theres a lot but i dont want to have to actually restore my ipod as opposed to just upgrading the OS,
what do you mean?? What I wanted was to download a file to upgrade (officially) and not to loose any data whatsoever... not out yet?
Will upgrading to iOS 4.0 delete all of my apps, music, etc? Will I lose any save data? I have over 40gb of stuff, and I would rather not lose it.
It shouldn't change anything except your device. All the files on your computer are fine. I don't know about the contents of your ipod/iphone itself. You should plug it in, right click on it on the sidebar, and select "backup". You can also find your apps and application data (saves and stuff) here: * Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ * Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ * Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ for more about backing up and restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 If you go to edit >> preferences >> advanced, it should list at the top where your iTunes media folder is. You can backup apps from there . If you need to restore apps later, you just highlight all the files, then click and drag into iTunes.
Well I've always had a problem with my backups, but the only way to upgrade "unofficially" is to restore to a newer firmware which still is a restore.
