Some players from US let us know that they finally could successfully download the game from the store. Hopefully the issue will be solved soon if not already!
Loving this game so far. Gameplay is smooth, challenging but not crazy hard or anything. Those retro visuals are fantastic, very aestheticly pleasing. And, maybe it's just because I'm a fan of chiptune, but I just can't get enough of the music! And I like how the IAPs are handled, you can totally go through the game without spending any money, but if you want to support the devs, you can throw a few bucks their way. Great stuff. (Also, that dog level wasn't that bad lol)
Adding slide controls? That would make it a perfect game for me, I really hope you can do it. Thanks again for this little gem!
The timers are the only con the game has imo its not some action game its a rogue like id deff pay to have that removed and add a coin doubler for loose or found coins not chests cause that would break the game id think.
It depends on which kind of slide. Tap and hold slide like virtual joystick? Or single swipes like in Fist of Fury? Try imagining which one works and which brings new usability issues. There are two moving modes - limited to moves until there are enemies nearby and not limited when a level is all clear. With buttons you can easily do one step without accidentaly wasting move point and, when unlimited, you can walk by holding a button. How do you feel this will work with slides/swipes?
Basically, if you only play it once without stopping you'll need a few IAP only, which will be close to a premium price. But it won't be enough if you'll be playing it over and over for what a paid game/upgrade would be better - you're right here. Then when you'll playing again you'll need pauses anyway. As levels become harder and harder and you'll need a whole bunch of time to pass it all in one run. Yet we'll think and will take into account all the suggestions May be a premium update/version. And other suggestions: - randomly generated levels - deeper upgrade system - more items, monsters, and everything
Great dev and great game!!!! I do wish there was a full buy-in. I know vids are optional but I would love to not see them. I'm going to support simply based on the dev involvement here, but I would love a full buy-in. Download this game!!!
Great game! The timers for the upgrades were a tiny bit annoying at first, since higher levels really need an upgraded character. Then I realised I could slide to select a previous level, and replaying those while waiting got me enough coins to buy the next upgrades right away. And once 50% of normal mode is explored, the Bonus level opens - plenty of coins there! Finished normal mode with 85% explored. I guess the unexplored parts of the crumbling floor dungeon plus the 3-4 chest puzzles I gave up on are the remaining 15%. Or is it only floor space? Where's the Nightmare mode? Do I have to start a new game to get to it?
So when you die, you can watch an ad to continue. If you pay to have the ads removed The ad option no longer appears, and you can pay 10 coins instead to continue. Due to this, I believe paying to have the ads removed is a bad idea. I rather watch the ad, then pay 10 coins. I believe we should be able to have the one continue for free, if we paid.
This one is definitely staying on my phone. Solid game play with absolutely beautiful visuals. I like rogue likes but this is one of the best I've played on iOS for sure. Seriously, what a gem. Big shout out to the developer for not only being so active in this thread answering questions and taking suggestions but also going out of his way to send people promo codes that we're having trouble downloading the game (myself included). Having a solid developer behind the game only makes it that much better. I'll definitely be buying IAP to support a good dev.
I'm loving this game. It's not an easy ride either by any means. I sort of wish their was a bigger coin pack option. I blasted through a couple just to get a little upgrade love. And replenishing my lives is not an easy feat either. Still I can't stop playing this. Especially those bonus levels and the paws levels. How cute to play as the adorable dog. This is surely a rare treat and still my favorite new game. Even after the big release tonight.
Yeah this game's great but so many of the mechanics are "loose" in a way that's symptomatic of the freemium model - even good freemium, which this game totally is. I'd gladly pay twice the price of the ad removal IAP for a version of Dim that locks out all ads and other freemium trappings, which would allow you to rebalance the game to its full potential.
