I can play short session outside and longer in my home. I had a few bugs on it. When I change this game from landscape to portrait, it has crashed. Also, when I played tutorial, it didn't progress. I faced those on iPad 6th gen with Nimbus controller, latest iOS. I want to continue to report bugs often because it's a quality game and brilliant! physicalpariah likes this. physicalpariah Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2016 323 156 43 Indie Game Developer http://anchoritegames.com #3 physicalpariah, Jul 30, 2020 @solarnya Wow it crashed on rotate?!? Thats new! With the tutorial, did you get stuck at the same point as @Jstorm, the bit where you have to look at an enemy? Jstorm Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2020 1,082 474 83 Male Employed Earth #4 Jstorm, Jul 30, 2020 I am playing the game without a controller atm. Regarding the tutorial, the first target marker (the parabola shape) I got was the enemy fighter, so I really have no idea what the disabled ship is. That said, with the intuitive control design, I am having no problem playing the game without completing the tutorial, so it’s not a big deal. Some things I am not sure are 1. How to dodge a missile. 2. If I can give orders to my squadron. solarnya likes this. solarnya Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2015 903 285 63 Male Close to Tokyo, Japan #5 solarnya, Jul 30, 2020 Last edited: Jul 30, 2020 I think so. When I got stucked, I had no enemies to kill.(or needed to find enemies but I couldn't) and tutorial mentioned about thrusters or whatever iirc. So I quit this game and started without tutorial. No matter as it(skipping tutorial), however it's important to develop games probably. physicalpariah Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2016 323 156 43 Indie Game Developer http://anchoritegames.com #6 physicalpariah, Jul 30, 2020 @Jstorm Yeah that first target marker is the "disabled ship"... disabled because it's not trying to kill you. I think I'll try to make that wording a little clearer! Glad to hear that the controls are intuitive For dodges: To the left and right of the joystick there are arrows, press those to "dodge", which will help avoid missiles. Timing is important though. For the squad: fighters will attack your current target most of the time, frigates will do their own thing. I'll look into it asap! Jstorm Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2020 1,082 474 83 Male Employed Earth #8 Jstorm, Jul 30, 2020 Well, if the ship is the disabled ship, I have been killing it before completing the “look at the disabled ship again” prompt. Maybe it’s better to make the object for the flight control training indestructible or something more beefy. As of the missile, it’s not clear when the missile hits. Aside from the alert sound, is there some indicator that shows the distance of a missile? physicalpariah Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2016 323 156 43 Indie Game Developer http://anchoritegames.com #9 physicalpariah, Jul 30, 2020 The disabled ship shouldn't be in range, and you shouldn't be able to apply thrust until you've looked at the ship, so there's definitely a bug there.... For missiles, next to the reticle in the centre, there's a warning UI element that blips faster. Intentionally a bit vauge, but if it's unclear that's a problem. Jstorm Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2020 1,082 474 83 Male Employed Earth #10 Jstorm, Jul 30, 2020 The missile lock indicator is easily noticeable, but it is not clear when the missile is going to impact. A continuous beep that signals a player to dodge will help. physicalpariah Well-Known Member Jul 8, 2016 323 156 43 Indie Game Developer http://anchoritegames.com #11 physicalpariah, Jul 30, 2020 Theres no beep? There should be a beep! Jstorm Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2020 1,082 474 83 Male Employed Earth #12 Jstorm, Jul 30, 2020 Well, does the frequency of the beep change with the distance from a missile? I just played another round to check the missile warning, and it took only 2 beeps for the missile to hit. As I mentioned about the sound, sometimes the sound effect gets disabled. First I was thinking it’s some sort of a shell shock effect, but considering it doesn’t get fixed until I leave the run, I guess it’s a bug. Pre-ordered. Stuck in the tutorial when it asked me to reload manually, which I did, then nothing happens. The "target range" indicator always goes around sixty-something and there is nothing else to do. Also, I cannot change from roll/yaw as I am stuck with rolling. Thanks.
