What answer do you guys get for 6÷2(1+2)=??? (I can do it myself, but i just want to see what you guys get)
6÷2(1+2)=??? 6/2 = 3 3(3) = 9 Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication/Division Addition/Subtraction PEMDAS wins.
PEMDAS for the win for sure. Me and a friend love it so much, we have a band project called "PWN-DAS" instead of "PEMDAS". LULZ, GET IT?! hahahaha
In england we learn bidmas (brackets, indicies, div., multi., add., sub.) so surely 6÷2(1+2)=x you then multiply the brackets 6÷(2+4)=6÷6=1 so x=1?
It is 9. Google doesn't lie : D http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=6%C3%B72(1%2B2)%3D
I was totally kidding to begin with. lol. American stuff is always the worst. Cept our FREEDOM! Or something. I don't know. Pay no attention me. hahaha
I always liked: a = b a^2 = ab a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2 (a+b)(a-b) = a(a-b) a+b = a a + a = a 2a = a 2 = 1
No with bidmas you just follow the order. No need to complicate it by adding x. Brackets come first so you do 1+2 which equals 3. Then 6 divided by 2 is 3. And 3 x 3 = 9. P.S - The english didn't invent maths.
No. doing the brackets means adding up 1+2. So it's =6/2(3) =3(3) =9 There is no other way to solve this problem. If you do think the solution is 1, you need to take algebra again. Math has rules. It's called PEMDAS.
There was no single person who invented mathematics. Mathematics was used, and technically invented, by many cultures around the world.
