Free [[app=instapaper free]App Store[/app]] For those of you not blessed with an iPhone and a great 3g connection wherever you go (talking to all of us iPod Touch users), Instapaper is my all-time favorite application (excluding games). You set up an instapaper account online (free), and make a bookmark for your browser. Whenever you read an article you're interested in, click your instapaper "read later" bookmark and it links it to your account. Next, open your Instapaper Free app on your iPod touch when you are at a wifi spot, load all your articles (they are put in plain text form)- and voila, they can now be read at anytime- no internet required. I find this excellent for when I leave my dorm to go to lunch, or a class with no wifi access. I just put all the digg/news articles I don't have time to read at home and read them on my breaks, lunch, etc. There is a pro version for 4.99, but from what I can tell, it does not add enough to merit anywhere near that price. [TA thread] Well, hope this helps some of you all out with your internet readings, glad I could help!
Pretty useful app. I used it a lot when I was on holiday overseas. Didnt want to roam my mobile data charges, so I just went to free wifi spots, downloaded all the pages I needed with Instapaper and Bam!! Loads of sites in my pocket! (Dont forget to sync the Instapaper app first though) If only they can make another app called InstaWeb or something (spider a whole website instead of just copying a single page).
Sweet! Works perfectly! For those of us with iPods, there is no excuse not to get this incredibly convienent app!
