If you get two of the same card, an option to promote to elite will appear on the back of the card. Upgrading increases the stats of that card significantly.
You can also tell if you have a duplicate because a "+" symbol will appear on the front of the card in the upper left corner, which is useful for seeing which of your cards you can promote at a glance when you have several of them in your roster.
It also seems like their level 1 and 2 abilities are way more powerful even if you max them out. If this game has a balance problem, it's not in favor of the player.
Yeah, I have to say I'm over the ridiculous amount of grinding necessary in this. If it wasn't basically impossible to beat the game with anything less than a team of three Elite V golds, it might be a different story, but as it stands I'm just using the iFunbox save trick (thanks to whoever pointed this out earlier in the thread!) to ensure I get Regime Supes every time I hit 75K and the three character glitch until I finish. Currently got an Elite II. The only reason I'm still playing now is because I want the console unlock for beating it Great game, especially because it's free, but it's let down in a couple of key areas. (I bought some credits btw, so I've given the devs some coin.)
This might be a result of their raw stats being higher, because the power of skills increases as your attack stat increases.
On the second to last level there is a gold Black Adam that can do his level two super with one power bar. I've seen him do it. I've seen other characters do level two supers with one bar, too. This is freemium balancing for you. They make the game eventually so difficult that the hope is the gamers who stick it out will be annoyed into buying IAP. Earlier today I spent $100,000 I had grinded out for a gold pack. Got another Joker, which is useless because he's already a level five.
iFunbox. Copy save off your phone with $100K, buy a gold pack, if it's not what you want, copy save back to your phone and try again.
I have been tempted to do this many times reading the thread. But too lazy to get my connector, start pc, get into iTunes etc. I guess if I had a console version, that would've provided the necessary motivation.
Having the console version, lex has a weaker mid level attack that is similar to his satellite attack. That's what you saw. Not his super
is it worth it to elite up silvers? I'm thinking specifically of the ones who give stat bonuses to the team like lex, flash, and green lantern. And possibly WW since she can do insane damage with the 150% boost to her special attacks. I've noticed that my Elite II Knightfall Bane has a much better attack rating than the gold version although his health is still nowhere near even a basic gold.
This. It's just his level 2 special move. In his Super, he collects energy from the laser into a big ball and throws it at your head.
No. Silvers become completely useless, except to fill spots on grind teams, past a certain point. In some of the final battles they can take maybe a hit or two. They can't survive supers, not even with blocking. It's better to focus on the golds as early as you can. Oh, here's a hint to make the mirror match on the final battle easier. Take an Elite V gold and two bronzes. Your gold can probably get a level three super off to kill the other gold, especially if you use your bronzes to absorb the enemy supers. Then even if you have low health the enemy bronzes will be easy pickings.
Got Knightfall Bane in a silver pack last night, which was pretty sweet, since I'd fought him before but didn't know the silver tier also had secret unlockables, like the gold tier does. Any other hidden silvers that can only be unlocked by packs?
Nope. Unlockables are Bronze: Green Lantern (New 52) The Flash (New 52) Silver: Bane (Knightfall) Gold: Harley Quinn (Arkham) Superman (Prison) Batman (Beyond) The Silver and Bronze unlockables are decent-to-good when compared to the others of their tier. The Golds... they suck. Shoot for the high-end golds you can see in the shop (WW, either Superman, Batman, Doomsday). Those are the easiest to beat the game with (once you've got them to Elite 4-5).
You mean buying the individual characters from the shop? Yeah, you can get them in booster packs, and a couple of times in the game you get a character card for clearing a bonus battle. Those three ways are the only ways to get characters.
Not really. Technically you could buy in-game currency and use that to get booster packs, but you won't really get a lot of coins for your money so that's probably not a good idea. Booster packs for each tier include a random support card, a random skill upgrade card, and a character of that tier. They are also a lot cheaper than buying the individual characters. For example, there are gold characters in the store for 200,000 coins, you can get them for 75,000 coins in a gold booster pack (plus a support and an ability upgrade card). I'd say the only IAP worth springing for is the starter pack, for $5 you get 3 silver characters, which makes the first two pages a lot easier and eliminates a lot of grinding. But sooner or later, you're going to have to grind, its just a matter of when. Just keep in mind that in the last few pages silver and bronze characters are useless. Start thinking ahead now and working towards your first 75,000 pack. You can even use iFunbox to make sure you get batman, superman,or doomsday (batman has a +25% damage team buff, Doomsday regains half his health after each kill, and superman has crazy base stats and an unblockable level 2 super).
