Are you not reading what I'm writing or am I just that incapable of communicating? I have a dozen bronze characters, all at least elite 2, and 3 silver (some elite 2s), all around L17/18. They are still quite incapable of doing any grinding on anything other than the page 1 bonus. The page 2 bonus just eats most of them for lunch. Sure not grinding that for anything but frustation. I *could* get more silvers, or spend even more time pouring time and "money" down the drain of promoting the bronze characters until I can just squeak by on the page 2 bonus, but was striving to hold off and use patience to go for a gold so I could put more effort into pushing further into the game. The entire point was to go beyond grinding the page 1 battle as that's all I've been doing since my second day with this game. It's past old at this point. I've done all the page 2 battles except the Sinestro boss and the bonus so I need more firepower.
I have a theory (aka Support cards are bugged) My theory is simple, please help me prove/disprove it. It is this: Support cards (all three types, +10% health/damage/energy(timer) recharge) only apply properly if they are purchased outright. If they are found in booster packs, they DO NOTHING. Here is what I have seen: When I started promoting my Batman, I bought the 10% health and damage support cards instead of waiting for them to drop in a booster. When I finally found Batman Beyond (yep I've caught em all) he had a surprising base stat line of 660 damage and 770 health. I was a bit wary of these obviously 10% increased numbers. When I started promoting my Silver Flash, I bought the 10% damage support card and it applied immediately. Sweet! I've never noticed a difference (and I've been looking) in stats when I get support cards in booster packs. Just now, to test this. I looked at the IN SHOP base stats for Batman. Originally written down by me as 700, 1100. Now listed as 770, 1210 (obviously those are 10% increased). I also saw that Gold Bane was still listed as 650, 1000. Even though I had the Damage Support card. No damage increase from his original stats! Then I bought his Health Support card (which I hadn't received yet). Now the IN SHOP base Health stats for all the Banes go up 10%. Hmmm... CONCLUSION: The Support cards are bugged. Unless you purchase them from the store, they DO NOT WORK. YET TO BE TESTED: What happens if you PURCHASE a card you already got, but is not applying? The shop tells you that it won't do anything, but lets you purchase it anyways... I'll test this with a cheapo in a bit.
Thanks for taking one for the team and testing this theory out! If it's true that they only apply when bought from the store, I hope the bug is fixed. I know at least that the EXP gaining cards do work if found in packs, since I noticed an immediate increase in earned exp after getting Ra's al Ghul from a booster.
Hmmm... you sure the XP for a specific fight went up? And you just didn't move onto fights with more XP? Anyways... I tested the buying already received from booster card part that I hadn't tested. It does not work. DON'T WASTE MONEY buying anything you don't already have. Just in case you thought to not listen to the game I also hope this bug will get fixed but I don't know how much the devs read this forum. Anyone know how to contact them with bugs?
Hmmm, I'm not sure, honestly. It was a while ago, and I can't quite remember. But if the other support cards are bugged, I don't see why the exp ones wouldn't be. That's a pretty significant glitch, though, so I'm pretty sure people on the dev team have picked up on it by now-- at least I hope they have.
Just down to the next to last battle and the star level on the last page! Just finished the last (non-star, level 42) battle on that page and felt like I was cheating! A fully upgraded Wonder Woman (Elite V) on radiation levels are almost unstoppable. She took out everyone single handedly! Just stay in a block until you fill up and use your power move, rinse and repeat. On top do it all finishing level 42 got me a Gold Bane and 53K!
Sorry, but i was just trying to help you out. If you are incapable of grinding with 16 characters, its not my fault. Thats what i was trying to say a few pages back, and i can back up your theory. (Check page 61 & 62) If you buy the same support card twice, does it appear twice in your collection?
Yep, you can have multiple cards (both from boosters and if you want to waste money and purchase another. But don't it doesn't do anything. EDIT: They look like a stack of cards. Not duplicate cards next to each other, if that is what you are asking.
Thanks, so there is no way atm for the support cards to work properly? Hopefully they fix this in another update...
I guess the only way to fix them would be to erase your data and start over, buying the support cards manually-- but considering that that involves both erasing your data *and* not buying boosters (or risking that you'll get a support card from a pack you wanted to buy manually), I'd say that's not at all worth the trouble, for an increase that relatively small.
Who are the best silver characters? I mostly skipped them and went onto gold, but I want to collect them all so any help?
Nightwing and green lantern are solid, especially if you can elite them up. As is Deathstroke, and Flash's passive ability (speed boost to the whole party) is nice to have.
I also skipped Silvers completely. Wish there had been more of an incentive to get them. Yes, Flash's party boost is nice, as is probably Lex's +15%. The Silvers that have kicked my gold butt on multiple occasions are long haired Nightwing and Lex.
Yeah, the drains on both of those, and nightwing's speed and lex's durability, can be pains to overcome. I like using teams of silvers where I can just because they're more fun than using golds to steamroll opponents with brute force, but they become obsolete past the first battle of the last page. If you're not rocking high-ranking golds from there on out, you just can't win. Which is a shame, since the silvers are a lot of fun to use.
Not to mention Nightwing's ability allows him to go toe-to-toe with powerhouse supers without feeling the heat. Well-timed drains combined with taking half damage on standard attacks can allow you to stall like a champ if you have more party members than the enemy remaining, and you can do decent damage with the drain if its powered up enough.
As I've said on previous pages, I like using promoted silvers (Elite 3+) to help grinding the first battle on the last page. Flash is quick and powerful, and therefore my fav. Check out their base stats and passives to choose for yourself though. They all level and promote at the same rate so the base stats are the best place to look for endgame differences.
Has anyone who has purchased Ra's al ghul tell me whether that card works together with Brainiac and Doctor Fate, or does it let you use only one XP boost at a time?
New update released. I haven't updated but from the Game FAQS board I know/think the following have changed: THE DUPLICATE CHARACTER GLITCH IS FIXED (meaning it no longer works) Lower XP rewards for fights. Possible rewards for those that have already bought the starter pack (not booster pack).. one guy said "got an early adopter bonus pack (Regime Bane/Flash + 10,000 credits) for buying the starter pack" I don't know if its the same for everyone. I'm going to backup everything and update. Then I'll check things and report back. EDIT: I've updated. I'm still thinking about going back. THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE SUPPORT CARDS FROM BOOSTER PACKS NOT APPLYING PROPERLY. THEY HAVE FIXED THE MULTIPLE 75k Gold pack bug!! (ugh, this was a cool bug that helped) THEY HAVE FIXED THE DUPLICATE CHARACTER BUG!! (I'm done using this but you should stay away if like it) I'm unsure at the moment, but they might have slightly decreased the time for energy recharge. That or the energy regen support cards at least are working. I got Silver Lex Luthor, Silver Black Adam, and 10,000 credits for my early adopter bonus. You also get daily bonuses for logining/playing the game (ranging from money, to energy recharges, to a character card? I only briefly saw it and didn't have a chance to screen cap) There is now a Rate Injustice button on the Extra tab. I didn't immediately get WBID credit for doing it though I did after a game restart. Knightfall Bane unlocked for console!
