CONGRATS BRISCOE!! Hopefully one day I'll be able to get there! On a personal note I just accomplished a milestone by completing NIGHTMARE challenge! I now have AODS at E5 and a Allow Sword which seems like the perfect gear for him! The news is not all good, however. After completing the challenge I thought it fitting to finally reward myself with my first challenge pack and I drew Hawkgirl who was not a character I was looking for. Does anybody want to tell me the usual which is that I'm wrong and she's actually an awesome character?
There's a pretty extensive guide from WASDUK.com that's been posted multiple times... I encourage you go back and read older posts. In short, gear is upgraded using a combination of shards (from shattering gear) and coins to "upgrade" gear. Once it's been upgraded ten times, you can EVOLVE gear (raise the star rating) and gain additional benefits. You can continue to upgrade EVOLVED gear another ten times. Evolving a one star to two is fairly cheap; however, going from three star to four is QUITE COSTLY.
Hawkgirl was a Pre-ElseWorld Flash Challenge... so I only have ONE of her. She has great stats and damage. A good tank... but her passive was kinda crappy. NOW, that being said, if her passive is used with the right team it can be a great benefit: HG, RBA, and N52NW... or HG, RBA, and the upcoming Luchador Bane (tagging in gets a damage boost and chance to stun). WOW. I frequently use her to farm Battle 36 for Challenge coins Her Special 1 has a chance to stun and her super move is REALLY COOL. I'll have to come back to her and Raven after I'm done with a few others... WW600 and AHQ
There we go, I feel better already. Looking forward to Lucidore Bane challenge - he sounds like a beast. Looks like I need to elite my Silver flash since I didn't get EWF in the challenge pack as I was half hoping for.
Wow... There's a total of nineteen limited/challenge cards (inluding RKF, RSB, AOD, and Luchador Bane... none of who should post in the challenge booster until the next update) going all the way back to the first Batgirl challenge: Batgirl, Zod, Red Son Deahstroke, Regime Raven, Regime Aquaman, Blackest Night Batman, Hawkgirl, ElseWorld Flash, Martian Manhunter, Scorpion, John Stewart Green Lantern, Darkseid, Containment Suit Doomsday, Boss Solomon Grundy, Wonder Woman 600... then RKF, RSB, AOD, & LB... Each challenge before EWF could only be completed ONCE... and some had card requirements like: ONLY Insurgency Cards, or MUST have Raven, or ONLY female Cards... They were tough even w/out Nightmare. I don't know what the odds are of drawing the one you want, but I'm sure it's not 1:15 (or soon to be 1:19?)... Darkseid has a lower draw rate and Batgirl has a high one. Be happy... ALL of the Challenge Booster Cards (except EWF) are worth more than 150K coins... Hawkgirl is 192K.
I'd actually be really interested in the odds...of the challenge characters I want (in order): 1) DARKSEID 2) Red Son Deathstroke 3) WW600 4) Batgirl 5) Martian 6) Cont Doomsday 7) Scorpion 8) Aquaman (I heard he sucks but what I heard about his shark special is not to be missed) I'm wondering if I should get a couple more challenge packs before the update to increase my odds of getting these guys or wait and see what the update brings.
Saved up around 4 million credit and bought the challenger booster packs and got 1 Aquaman 1 Darkseid 1 John Stewart Green Lantern 1 Elseworld Flash 2 Martian Manhunter 2 Blackest Night Batman 3 Batgirl 3 Hawkgirl 3 Scorpion 4 Raven 5 Redson Deathstroke
IMO, ALL of the Challenge Cards are good. Granted, Aquaman was better BEFORE they nerfed the damage on his super (at E-V/LVL-46 it only does about 20K) but it still drains the entire opponent team of power. Martian Manhunter is my guilty pleasure... his passive is AWESOME... his basic attack has a random effect (stun, damage over time, or power drain). He's another rare Card that can change the game.
Wow... I'm surprised with the frequency of RSD. His Special 2 is still a bit OP. At E-V he's capable of taking down entire teams. I like to pair him with RSSG and RSWW. I've only bought a few Challenge packs... I bought most of mine directly from the store; however, I drew Batgirl, Zod, and Scorpion. I'll be buying the rest through boosters... I missed the Zod Challenge (wasn't ready for it), so that's the only way to get him promoted. You really can't beat 150K for a Challenge (Gold) Card and two support cards... They are worth every coin.
Only 1 Flash? I heard he was most common. Thanks so much for reporting. This makes me want to buy more challenge packs. I just wonder in the next update will they change anything? Ie. Lower price? People are asking for things like the card you get appears in the store from now on or even you pay a certain amount to play the challenge! I wonder if NR will do something like that in the next update. I agree with Briscoe that the cards are worth it, but there seems to be widespread opinions that the challenge packs are too expensive and too hard to elite. I could never get my E7 Darkseid this way as according to the above results it would cost me 28 Million credits! As an idea, I would pay $300k for a challenge pack if the card I drew would appear in the store for me.
You never know the frequency of the cards you could get but thankfully i barely get flash. If you really want to get darkseid to elite 7 you should buy him for the store that would be you best bet instead of getting random cards you might not want
Let's not forget... They are in the business to make money (REAL MONEY). If they can entice players into making in-app purchases MULTIPLE times then they're doing it right. THAT'S why Shazam is a Booster pack only. THAT'S why Challenge Boosters are random. The bigger they make the pool of cards the LONGER people will play... and hopefully BUY some coins. They could probably cash in by making Challenge Cards unlockable in the store for $3.99 (just a random figure). I like the fact that I haven't spent any real money on the game... other than the Xbox version I bought my nephew (which I RARELY play anymore). I think the $60 for the console version was enough.
OK... I skipped my daily booster today too... Couldn't resist the urge to promote Krypto Lex to E-V and max his specials/super. Now he's a viable team member for my anchor cards.
I wish I had skipped my daily booster....Insurgency Batman, ugh. Sold! At least I got a good energy support card.
Multiplayer is becoming less fun now that my cards are more powerful. I've got to the final fight of an epic battle three times in a row only to go up against some hacker with all E7's level 50 with 300 gear. The last guy I just faced had E7 shazam, Lex, Nightwing all with 300 gear. There's no chance.
I tried to warn you... LOL!!! Just ask HPS3000 how LONG (and how MUCH) it took to evolve one piece of gear to four stars... and he's not even got it FULLY evolved to 100 points! Mathematically, there's no way that someone can have 9 pieces of 100 point gear (AND E-VII Shazam) this soon... unless they hacked a ga-gillion credits OR their iDevice's battery is fueled by their insomnia.
I don't multiplay but I've read that if you bring two gold and a bronze it will cut down on the hackers. They only use golds.
Since the week after they introduced gears I started evolving the kinfe collection since the 3rd passive is self heal on your level on special and the more health you have the more you heal by. I think I might stop evolving that gear because it takes so long just the get credit by grinding and then you get gears to shatter you get so little shards form them. You best bet to beat an elite 7 level 50 with 300 gear team is to have either a self heal or team heal gears. It increase your chances of winning. The team heal I use is the .357 revolver on animated harley quin and with her level 2 special you get more heal plus her passive is the best(20% damage and power regeneration, + 40% for joker characters) and I think if you evolve te blue power ring you could get a self heal and well the knife collection is my level 1 self heal. If you really don 't want to see hackers with 300 gear yours best bet is to play with 3 bronze cards and most likely you'll only get normal gold cards or elite 1 gold card or some silver cards with barely any gear on then. I tried playing with 2 gold and a bronze on epic and by the time I reached battle 4 it was elite 7 level 50 with 300 gears or sometimes it started at the 3 battle. I never tried 2 gold and a silver card so I can't say anything but i tried 3 gold cards and about 80% of the time on any battle type you get hackers with 300 gears also if you have an elite 7 level 50 card on your team when you playing you sure to run into hackers
