I think I may have found the problem. Although I had cloud saving switched on, it wasn't actually communicating with the server. Restarted my ipad 2 a few times, changed some settings here and there and the error message has changed though still no luck with getting it to work.

So... After all this time I finally beat raidriar and the worker and wrapped up the original main story.

was it the device inserted in the hold of the infinity blade what forced the worker to be reborn as a child? If so, was raidriar using it all throughout infinity blade 1 to keep Siris a child? Or was Siris mechanical friend using it at siris's request? Where did that device show up in the games?

I can't seem to connect to icloud servers on my air any longer, I can on my iphone but the game save is gone

I am hoping that I can get the ipad to connect and force the save out there
I really would hate to lose my save :(

To you, and all the others in this thread who cannot retrieve their savegames from iCloud: I have had similar problems, and they actually resolved themselves from enough reboots, or from keeping the game open and giving it enough time to find the cloud backups. It seems that both IBII and IBIII occasionally have problems communicating with the cloud, which sometimes results in even local savegames rendered unaccessible (instead of looking for a local save, the game seems to search the cloud, fails to connect, and promptly starts a new savegame for the player).

In one case in IBII I even found my old character once I had played through the intro and accessed the Character Slots menu. The game had started a new character for me, either in spite of my local save, or because it had not YET found my save in the cloud (which it seemed to do as I was playing through the tutorial).

No telling if this will help any of ya, and perhaps this advice (which really isn't much of an advice at all, just a perennial "keep trying" order) has been given before. But if it restores just one lost character, perhaps mobile gaming Santa will look more favourably upon me ;)

EDIT: Also, in the official IB forums, perhaps there is a slight chance that Chair themselves will reply if you post about your woes and burdens :)

I could see being less than thrilled that a save game was gone. The amount of gold and chips they are giving away should be enough that most people would be able to get back to where they were. Not everyone I'm sure.
The chips and gold giveaway is huge though. Enough to ruin any challenge in the game for new players.

Got my "rainy day fund." I will not be using these chips or gold immediately; I plan to set benchmarks for each (e. g. "40,000 chips = 0 chips") and continue as I have. Nice to have the resources available should I ever change my mind, though!

Smart move. Just started the game and collected the booty as well, and now feel as if I struck gold (judging from the value chips/gold are sold as in-app purchases! I was :eek::eek:)

    :p:eek:

Hot damn. That's a hell of a Christmas present! Collected my chips and multi million reward. Gave me the edge I needed to fight Galath. I had been grinding and forging for weeks building up for that final stage. Sorry Walter Bishop, you dead now. :)

I must say that the Arena is really a great new prospect for some quick swordplay, exploration-free grinding (for those that seek such), weak item leveling (mastering weapons which are far too weak to be viable at your current level through the normal Arena difficulty, etc), and easily accessible challenges.

For those who have complained about the grind and the freemium mechanics, get in-game and do the two holiday trials. They will net you absurd amounts of chips (50,000!) and gold (15,000,000!) at a minimal challenge. This is far more money and chips I have spent after playing the game for 10+ hours, perhaps ten time the amount.

It is also a good way to ruin much of the sense of progression in the game. I completed the chips challenge, not knowing what to expect, since the prize sounded absurd, thinking the reward text had mistakenly come down with an extra zero and that the actual amount would be far less. And I already wish I hadn't.

Would anyone happen to have an idea of how to get rid of such a chips trove? I'm having absurd ideas along the lines of mass-buying and consuming a vast number of potions before a single low-level Arena fight, just to ensure I can get rid of the chips before they actually affect my progression in a meaningful manner.

Perhaps, on a slightly less obsessive-compulsive note, I should do the rainy day fund thingie. Exact-Psience and the rest of you who are playing with the big guys, will these 50 000 chips (or the 15 million gold, for those who cannot resist) actually be gone and used up without a massive effect on progress and enjoyment of the game, once I reach the higher echelons of play?

I have to say, calling a spade a spade, the trial for the gold and chips as Christmas present from Chair/Epic is HUGELY generous.
I'll spend that 15mill pretty fast (lot of high end equipment needing upgrade) in the game but that 50,000 chips, not so quickly.
Massively generous, hugely nice gesture, worth noting because it is hugely rare that any developer would do anything like this.
Amazing gesture that one has no choice but to respect greatly.

@ayjona, no disrespect, but if one is impatient, one will spend it all quickly, both chips and cash. I've more or less spent the cash already but I'd a lot of level 8/9 shields (many, many hours) that needed upgrade. And the chips just made it quicker. So yeah, it can be spent fast if one is impatient.
But, and this is still important, it is still a hugely generous gesture from Epic\Chair to the players, hugely generous and greatly appreciated.
And, sorry, in answer to your last sentence, the cash itself will be gone pretty fast through upgrades of already high level equipment (2.8 mill per shield for example) but those chips (still surprised at the number of chips, thought I was going blind) can be used much more efficiently by not using them to speed up forges and rather use them for gem wheels. The results will be better as we can all wait a day or two for a shield or gem to upgrade but rare gem wheels will give some good results.

Not calling me impatient is really not that disrespectful ;)

But thanks for the analysis. I actually forgot about the upgrades. As long as I know that the holiday gifts will not throw off game balance in the long run and on the greater scale (and other metaphors for all-encompassing concepts), I really don't mind. If it just brings more flavour through greater freedom of choice and allows me some extravaganza, without making a large section of the game effortless (I remember how saving up and buying just one really powerful weapon could make the next hour or more of IB2 seem like a tutorial), perhaps I should go for the money as well. (Seems like I should have done that challenge instead of the chips, if any of them at all.)

It just brings more flavour, you're right there. :)
I would recommend caution though cash wise, because the chips and cash was come by easily in those trials, but then again I am about level 200 or so one each character and awakening 250 (give or take) so it is a lot more difficult at that level. Cash is still easy to come by but level 8 or 9 stuff is expensive to upgrade so I would recommend holding on to the cash as much as possible and get a lot of attack gems, they seem to be the real key to this one.
The Epic forum has a real good gem guide that helped me out a lot.
Oh and on perfect parry break gem, they are the only reason my level is so high. Hugely lucky, but great gem.

Edit, just noticed question about doing money trial, answer is do both. Both were available for me about an hour ago so did both.
Well worth it and both are extraordinarily easy on purpose.

You can only claim the reward once the clash mob ends.

Can somebody tell me how the saving game works? I lost all my progress!
Also do I have to manually turn On the cloud feature every time???

There's no throwing off of game balance of any sort because enemies will constantly scale "infinitely" so there will always be a time where you will feel too underpowered compared to your enemies.

And right now, my biggest advice is to get Magic to 250. Use some of those chips to re-spec your stats. And get a HOLY spell ring to level 10 quickly.
