Well, to keep it follow-simple... Spoiler 1. make sure you arent making any potions, and you have at least 1 slot open on your gem bag. 2. cook 10 RARE ROOTs (not bulbs). They are timed at 24 hours to cook. I will refer to this as SET1 on the next steps. From here you can go the (A) easy (but expensive chips-wise) route, or the (B) longer one which is cheaper. A1. Cook 10 RARE ROOTs on the second cooking slot A2. Cook yet ANOTHER set of 10 RARE ROOTs. This will prompt you to pay about 240 chips to complete the FIRST set (SET1) being cooked. A3. Hit YES. this will create the cooked potion (SET1) for you, then... A4. Check your gem bag (!!!) Or if you want the cheaper route... B1. Play missions or die to bosses. The purpose is to get the 24 hour timer on the set1 cooked Rare Roots to drop as low as possible. (1-hour is good, and will be used as example in these steps). NOTE: DO NOT LET THE ROOTS COOK ON TIMER OR YOU WILL MISS OUT ON THE DARKFIRE GEM. ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU STILL HAVE A SLOT OPEN FOR YOUR DARKFIRE GEM SINCE PLAYING MISSIONS MAY GET YOU SOME GEMS. B2. If you have about an hour left on the potion timer, cook a second set of RANDOM ingredients which will take MORE TIME than the current timer on SET1. Even a few minutes will work. B3. Cook a third set of ingredients again at RANDOM which should take MORE TIME than the second set.* This will prompt you to pay about 10 chips (which translates to about an hour on your SET1 timer) to complete the FIRST set (SET1) being cooked. B4. Hit YES. this will create the cooked potion (SET1) for you, then... B5. Check your gem bag (!!!)
I would like to add one more thing to the gem/potion glitch. Actually You CAN let the first potion to finish, just don't collect it. So for a darkfire gem: Spoiler 1. Start cooking 10 rare roots. 2. Do some playthroughs until it finishes cooking, but DON'T collect it. 3. Start a random potion in the second slot. 4. Go back to the cauldron menu, start a 3rd potion, and choose yes to collect the finished darkfire potion. 5. Congrats, you've glitched yourself a rare darkfire gem. Also, with this method, you can get a lot of 300k gold worth rare treasure gems, if You cook rare health potions (2 blue berries + 2 blue butterflies). Though this is kinda cheating...
Got it just one last question! In the cheaper way the two other potion that I'm making how many ingridents they need?? If I only add two ingridents will it work? Or all ten should be added! Sorry for so many questions I have left only few chips!
First time I did the glitch I wasn't paying attention and put 20 roots in and came out with a parry dmg 800 and a on magic use hp up by 2388....I was slightly disappointed lol
Ah wow I did not notice that. Thanks for the heads up. I usually failed one in between and didn't care too much but now I realize it boosts. Thanks man! And as for the dark roots, are people just buying them/saving them up or is there a trick to that? On another note, I'm worried we'll have to make all of our OP gems and $$$ treasure gems now because once the next update is out it's possible they'll eliminate this "bug". I assume it is a bug because the items section always gets stuck saying you got something new after you get a gem and usually won't go away for a while. Meaning the game really did think you got some item there and not a gem. I'm gonna have to try and make as many dark fires as I can..
For Dark Roots, you can simply buy them (100 chips each iirc), or you can take Rip's advice and equip +% chance to get rare items gems. These improve you chances at getting these items.
Woohoo for infinity blade! Three cheers! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! Finally, got it! Galath is still scary to fight.
Im actually having more trouble against Lelindre than Galath. Galath is a bit slow even at high levels on his first and third weapon types. The second (dual) is a bit faster and hard to react to, but you can skip his second form if you know how. His third form is pretty tricky because of his sword to shield feints, but is easily remedied by attempting to block ALL his sword attack attempts while wielding a Heavy Weapon. My main problem with the Galath fight is that on the ipad mini, that is the only fight where the framerate stutters a bit.
Yeah, I managed to cook four of them by equipping the rare items % gem and the drop rare items gem. One is hexagon blue and the other is brown with same shape as defence gem, two triangles joined if you know what I mean. I think what worked to my advantage as well is that I left all my other ingredients alone so they were all full so the roots were the only ingredient the game could give me. So with those gems and the other ingredients full, I mangled to get enough roots for four of the gems. I'll have to say the darkfire gems are good for the normal fights but when fighting a boss/deadless such as lilendre or Galath, the rare fire gem is actually better at doing damage. The dark fire doesn't work on their rainbow defense and even with a nullify ring, it only does 10% or so damage. Whereas the rare fire one is far more effective with a nullify ring against them.
My trouble with galath is that shield breaks all the damn time... There's this gem though, get 20 shield per combo. I don't even know when I got it, I think it's part of that gem and potions glitch.
Is this potion -> gem thing actually a glitch or part of gameplay? Did anyone try something like that with the gem forging?
I know, yeah. I was playing the percentages. Whether they are released on a pre set pattern or not, I dunno I'm sure they are to some extent but I guessed that if the other super rare one was full along with the rest of the ingredients it would increase my odds at least. And it did seem to work out pretty well as getting 40 roots in a short period of time from pickups seems like a higher percentage than normal. Its worth a shot because it does seem to have at least helped or contributed to some degree.
My guess is that you are just getting higher chances of gettign roots since you have increased the overall rate at which you get these ingredients. Nonetheless, yours is proof that those gems work as intended, and should not be overlooked.
Thanks for all the tips guys So you just found / made a rare item drop gem? I haven't seen any of those yet in my game. I only have the increase drop rate gem. I probably should play more. Did you create the rare item / drop gem or were they found in the store? I'll go broke soon with chips but I've been saving since the beginning of the game and only buying butterflies for the rare treasure gem.
Rare treasure gem does nothing for now FYI. My ipad IB3 got a 20 block per combo, my iphone's IB3 got a on break 5% super charge... Gem potion glitch is my hero.
