I think... Because of the limiting weapon upgrade timers, powerlevelling and boosting attack much wont come until very late, which would give more highlight to Heavy weapon's early strengths. It'll still inevitably fall short from duals once the attack stat is high enough, but i dont think it'll come soon.
Definitely, although I'm factoring that against the difficulty for me, with some types of enemies, of having to block in three directions and be pretty good at perfect blocking. It is usually easier for me by simply having a somewhat longer battle with less attack power. Sometimes it's better to get the battle over faster with a heavy weapon, but it really depends on what I'm fighting.
As long as you're in a wifi connection and your iCloud function is on, the game is saved on icloud automatically.
So given that I'm on wifi and cloud if I delete it and redownload it later, all my save data will still be there? I'm on like awakening 40 and really don't want to start over. Just don't have alot of space left.
I guess you'll just have to trust the cloud, unless you have another device so you can check if it has been uploaded into the cloud correctly. I have a mini and a 4S and it worked flawlessly on mine. I have switched back from 4S to Mini in separate occasions and never had problems with the icloud save transferring. IB2 was a different story. I had my save files not download correctly into the other device twice which erased 2 lv200+ files and i ended up starting a 3rd time and ended up at lv360+ now. Thing is, i never trust IB2's icloud anymore. I have been playing IB3 in both devices consistently and icloud hasnt failed me yet.
Same old game, this time built around IAPs. Best example: 'lets significantly reduce health potion drop rate and make people pay for them' Plus the game itself isn't really any cheaper for all that IAP bullshit.
I dont know why anyone would need IAP for this game though.. The way the game is now, I don't feel like its geared towards IAP. Anyway, the dragon seems bugged! I did 52k in one encounter (lol) damage to it, and when the dragon fell with 1k HP remaining, I tried to kill it but his HP wont drop below 100. Anyone experienced anything similar?
I know right? It's almost as if this is an action RPG that's geared towards a lot of grinding! If you just could have gotten a hint about it while playing the older iterations... But no! There's nothing that points to that.
Thanks EP -- Dear Chair, Please give us the option to skip open and ending videos once we're seeing it on the 2nd time and up
The cloud save is very buggy at the moment and is not a guaranteed option at the moment. It may be working for some but there is a known save/sync issue and a thread on their own forum about the problems. I've tested it on a six different devices with three different accounts and it worked for one for a while but works for none now. Also, it's not iCloud that it uses. It uses gamecenter to generate a time stamp and personal profile so it's saved on Chairs own servers not Apples iCloud servers so having iCloud itself turned on will do nothing. What you need to have turned on is gamecenter profile in the settings on the device. There is a gamecenter settings in the device if you're on iOS 7. Its fourth or fifth below iTunes and App Store options. Go in there and and there's a gamecenter profile. Click on it and enter you're password to sign in and save. If you're pre iOS 7, just sign in through the app. Note it doesn't work all the time. At the beginning, yes and for some people still but there is a bug somewhere in the gamecenter integration so it simply doesn't work all the time just yet. They are looking in to it but I'd guess it'll be a month or so before it's sorted for those that are having problems. And there are many. Best thing to do is google ifunbox or iexplorer. Install one or the other on your desktop. Plug in device that has farthest save. On the left there will be your device and an "apps" tab. Click the tab and all your installed apps will come up. Find IB3 and select it. One of the folders will be called "documents". Select it and in there will be a folder called "save". This will contain all your levels, items and currency. Select and copy the full contents of that folder, the contents of it now, not the folder, to a folder on your desktop. After that you can delete away and once you reinstall, you can copy the contents back to the same folder on your device. When copying back it will ask if you want to replace the files, select yes. Then you're reinstall will be back where you originally were. Note its the contents you want to transfer, not the folder. Transferring the folder itself can sometimes (only sometimes) just transfer an empty folder. So you need to be sure that its the contents, the individual files themselves, that you copy across. It does not affect you're warranty or anything so don't worry about that and it is a legitimate option, not a hack or a mod. But do be careful not to change, move or delete any other files. Also the files you're copying will not be removed from you're device. They will only be copied. If deleting to reinstall later, especially at level 40, I'd strongly recommend that and using either ifunbox or iexplorer. Ifunbox is free and iexplorer is a demo free trial so just go with ifunbox I suppose. Their functionality is more or less the same anyway. And just one more thing. Cloud saving, gamecenter synching and iCloud saving are not the same thing. They all use different systems. This does not use iCloud as in Apples own server and specific systems. Calling everything that uses cloud saving iCloud is a misnomer and simply not correct and misleading. Cloud saving is one thing and iCloud is an option under that. Its important to distinguish the two because developers use different methods of cloud saving, not all of them iCloud and setting one up doesn't necessarily set up the other.
About using iFunboxor iexplorer to back up your saves, I'm not so sure it's an option anymore. The original reason I registered for this forum, actually, was GTA3 modding in iOS 5 (put together a few sweet mod packs, if I do say so myself). Unfortunately, with iOS 6, you can't mod any files whatsoever in an app. There might be an exception with game saves, but I don't remember. I haven't tried with iOS 7, though.
What I described works on the current up to date versions of ifunbox and iexplorer with iOS 7. I can guarantee that as I've done it a good few times already this morning just to test it out and be sure I was giving the right advice. And because cloud synching simply doesn't work properly for me at all since the update. Certain limitations do apply now in that you cannot put modified files back on to your device but you can copy the original files from one to another in a lot cases if they are roaming type of files, as in save files (if you can find them). In some cases there are problems but in this case, the save file does transfer. Other files were changed and encrypted more securely for obvious reasons. And just further to that, this save won't work for all games. Asphalt 8 for example is almost impossible to find the xp save file and when you do, it's using an encryption that would require a lot of work to transfer. And in Angry Birds SW, the save files use a different name and location while IB2 uses a different name for the file. So don't take it as an across the board method for all games. Locations and file names vary. And forget about modding them because the encryption key in the app itself will reject modded files for security reasons. Something I'm in favour of by the way as it prevents hacking and I'm strongly anti hack. Just in case it appears to be a hack method or promotion of a hack method, it's not, I hate that crap.
I'm really unexpectedly enjoying this well above the other versions. It's not that there's too many IAP's but that they are obstructive. You see a chest and what it really is is an ad to buy keys because you have to pay to unlock unless you're lucky to already have some keys. Apart from that the setting is different and another character to play gives the game more life. I give it the thumbs up.
25 battle chips is cheaper than what buying a potion cost in IB2, at least comparing the rate I get battle chips to the pricing of potions in IB2. Plus, the potion drop rate was really low on high awakenings in IB2 just like it is throughout all of IB3.
Congrats, you just grinded yourself another level of smart ass! And on the internet to boot! Way to go! I never ran across half as many 'damn, need a pot to continue but got none' situations in IB2, let alone part one. And no, grinding doesnt help if you need a currency that cant be grinded beyond a certain point cause its awarded for unique achievements. IB2 had IAPs, sure, but IB3 is built around that shit. And that's something I won't accept for a game that costs about double the standard going rate.
