Guys I'm in my university and they have a very fast net but it restricts me from downloading any app! Any way to override it? Really want to try this game!
So I'm pretty stoked I waited to get IB3. Now I know what to expect. Oh wait, all I've read is people complaining. I suppose that says something. Nevertheless, I'll still pick this up upon upgrade. I guess it should be expected to have so much passion thrown around in a thread about IB3. Even though I haven't played the game, I feel like a lot of you are missing something, or have unrealistic expectations. Can someone who can articulate properly leave a comment or opinion?
Wasn't there an article here that IB 3 was not going to be released and they weren't going to finish it? Looks like they may have decided to put through a stitched up release just adding HR graphics. That would explain a lot of people feeling here its a demo?? Maybe it really is unfinished and the only way they could make it look new was to up the graphics.
I gotta say the reoccurring boot loop is a pain the arse. I hate it cycles that dumb sword and requires a restart. Love this bug
Probably not without being a hacker... They are probably blocking it through an internet filter. Do you have a laptop? You could try downloading it directly through iTunes and installing it from there. I wouldn't be surprised if that was blocked too though.
Game Impressions My biggest beefs with this game: Real dialogue I could care less about. It just slows down the gameplay. Computer Screens? WTF Cute sidekicks? Ugh Pseudo high tech areas? Where's my blaster? Why the swords then? I really liked the minimalist nature of conversations in the earlier versions. It never got in the way of gameplay. I think now they're taking the series too seriously, which, imho, is not a good thing.
I can answer your questions, but i dont want to spoil anything. Looks like stories in games arent your thing.
Pros Better graphics. Two characters instead of one. Each character has its own equipment and styles. More enemies and bosses. Different levels instead of one single level. Perk system. Magic is improved (freeze makes the enemy slower, etc.). New forging feature (you can forge special potions and upgrade your equipment). Cons Framerate problems on some devices (iPhone 4S here and in some battles the framerate seems to hit the 15 as max). You have to replay the levels in the same order for each playthrough. There's no freedom. Levels are really short (3 or 4 enemies) and don't have any kind of secret places except some of them. You need to grind more in this game than in previous entries. You'll find yourself dealing ~1% (exaggerating, but not too much) of the total health of the titan you're facing in early "rebirths". Grinding is boring. Since levels have around 3 or 4 enemies you'll find yourself going through the same levels again and again in little time since they are too short. This feeling is worse in this game than in previous games. Timers. The game has timers for forging gems, weapons and potions. Yeah, IB2 had timers for gems, but... You don't get a rebirth after defeating a boss, which means that you can't rush through the game while mastering more weapons and that only newbies get rewarded from the timers. And those timers are WAY too big (5 hours to upgrade a weapon). There's no NG. Perk system sucks. It's like things from IB2 were removed from the game and added as "perks", such as combos (yeah, you have to unlock the perk that makes you able to perform combos), super move, and some other things. The game has two currencies: gold and battle chips. Gold is earned through battles, finding gold bags and the likes, and battle chips are earned by completing titan challengues (those which gave you some extra exp in IB2) and by achievements. Battle chips are used to, surprise surprise, speed up the timers, and also get keys for chests. Buggy, but this isn't new to the franchise. I'm probably missing some pros and lots of cons. So far I'd say that this game is worse than the other entries, at least in my opinion. Most of the cons kill one of the things that made IB entertaining, the replayability, and that isn't cool. Then when you add how short the game is and the heavy grinding, then it just can't be called sequel, no matter how well it continues the story of the previous game. I played both IB and IB2, many OGs, NGs and BGs for each one, and loved both games. For IB3 one playthrough was enough to put me off, and I don't feel myself returning to play some more games in a long time unless Chair fixes these cons, and somehow I don't think they will fix these.
Agreed. You're missing one detail though. the 5 hour timer is only for upgrading weapons at level1 going to level2. From 2 to 3 it's 10hrs, from 3-4, 15, and so on.
I haven't played more than an hour, but I'm getting same general vibe. Don't like how they took stuff out of IB2 and added it as unlockable "skills". The world definitely feels less expansive. Holy smokes. I paid $7 for this. Is that realtime or ingame time?
Realtime, but can be affected by ingame actions... Mostly dying from a boss weapon. But those new to the game may benefit from this as they may die a lot as dying forwards these timers. I guess even those good at playing the game can purposefully die from bosses, but that wouldnt be as productive as "finishing it and having time forwarded" which was IB2's system.
Well, now that's enough to delete the game. No way I'm gonna wait 10 hours or get defeated 5 times just to upgrade ONE single weapon. Realtime. You can speed it up by getting defeated by bosses (which is more or less 2 hours less) or with battle chips, the second currency. But yesterday I left a weapon forging and it finished a few hours ago (the time I got the notification), and it was way more than 5 hours and it was from level 1 to 2... If you're going to play this, do it for the story. If you like the gameplay, you'll find IB2 better for that. And still the story sucks... Not the whole story, just this entry. Such a cool, cool opening for that stupid generic ending... Ugh.
