Only reason i'd recommend getting the first one is if you are into the story. From IB1 to the book, to IB2, despite the repetitive nature of the game, the story is one of the best found in an iOS games.

On sale again for $.99... Infinity Blade I was on sale last week. And I finally got IB III last night (partly to enjoy the graphics my shiny new 5S). So it's probably guaranteed to be on sale next week for $.99. LOL.
