Well, I got rid of Epoch three or four days ago, and here it is the 2nd of Dec. It came out the 10th of Nov. Still, it's not been fixed. I basically just didn't wanna wait anymore on that one. Like I said, I'll wait a while for this, but still disappointed IB2 has left such a bad taste in my mouth at this point all things considered. Lots of people seem to agree. However long anyone is willing to wait or how badly they want this doesn't concern me. Hey, I like the first one just fine, personally! I dont dote on these things for very long, I just move on.. The next big thing is always just around the corner.
I've had no problems with the game on a 4S. Minor slowdowns at times but nothing more. This game is better than IB1 in every way and you are a fool if you don't buy this. I doubt we'll see anything that comes close to this game in many months. GTA3 might be good but in a different way. Anuthing less than a 5 star review is just absurd in my opinion.
Just had a stupid long (but very thrilling) fight with some behemoth I should've beaten once I learned his attack pattern. Seriously, it was like 20 minutes long. Now that it seems my save worry is over (probably just jinxed myself) I can truly enjoy this puppy. Can't believe I lost that one, though.
Spoiler You can't go in that door yet, you have to look around and go through the door on the other side (the middle door of the 3). Sometimes it takes a second for the blue circle to show up.
After playing through 1 rebirth and a half I can say that: 1. I have no problems saving my game 2. I have no major slowdowns 3. I have no problems with the sound In general, no problems for me (iPhone 4 16 Gb / iOS 5.0.1 / 7 Gb free space) About the game: It's basically the same as the first one, only with more variety. From the 3 combat types I like big weapons the most, as they are the ones that give more damage. Swords (one or two, it doesn't matter) are too weak for now. In general you must have more control over all the fighting skills (parrying with big weapons, dogding with two swords) than in IB1. In IB1 I could almost go without parrying (or even without dogding, just blocking). In this one I have to master all. I suck at two swords for now. About the equipment: I like the gems, as you can sell them and get money or equip them and update your gear. In general this game has a slower pace than IB1. In IB1 I went so fast towards the God King that I didn't even notice the enemy on the right when you enter the castle until bloodline 12. In IB2 it's all about, looking around, choosing the right combat style/weapon, choosing the right gem, etc. I can say I agree with the stellar reviews. This is an iOS masterpiece, just as IB1 was. I hope the issues for everyone are resolved. When that happens, I can only hope it will work even better on my device.
sooooo where do I go now? I've killed the giant mech robot boss, the boss at the top of the tower and the giant winged monster in the dungeon area. Who else do I have to kill and where do I go now? Also why is it only showing 2 orbs in the tree symbol instead of 3? (The one every time siris puts his hand in and he dies instantly) Can someone pls help thanks
A few thoughts after finishing the game. The biggest disappointment of all is the plot. I have no clue why they hired Brandon Sanderson. They were doing a really nice job on the first one by themselves… In this one the plot is a total mess. Cliché and boy oh boy too much fuss for nothing… Also at the end they had one nice opportunity to kinda redeem themselves (not really but they had a good twist that could happen) but they blew it. And also the whole cyclical nature of the first which made sense now after the end it makes no sense at all. It didn't even make sense during the game but after the end it makes no sense at all. It ruins the whole endless and hopeless effort of the hero and you're just replaying the game to collect more stuff. And as it looks the plot will continue on infinity blade III and not on future updates. But I don't really mind since this was pretty much ruined with this installment. But to those who like the plot will probably have to wait another year or so... All in all you can see that the game is polished and the fighting mechanics are improved with the addition of new weapon tactics and also the viles (HINT: That's the really easy way to beat the final boss). It's a shame though that they missed the opportunity to have a product that was truly awesome! A few other pointers The ring use is buggy as hell. The gestures don't really get registered and most of the times when you want to cast one spell you cast a completely different one. The only way to solve that is use a ring with only one spell…. Another thing that worked perfectly fine in the first one and now it's just messy. I highly doubt the reviewers on several sites have played the game more than an hour or two. The game from what I've experienced is approximately the same as in the first one in length. Of course the enemies are more varied and there might be a couple more environments in this installment but the actual game plot is roughly the same in length. The music in the first one was epic and it perfectly complimented the action. In this one it's just forgettable. It's a shame really... Also what is going on with the art assets on the inventory? Did they hire a student to create transparencies with the magic wand of Photoshop 3? Highly compressed icons and extremely bad cutouts. And my last point is that for previous IB players the game first way through is relatively easy. I don't have a problem with that but I didn't have many of the blood rushing moments of the first. There were a few but you just don't have those epic battles of the first. Especially if someone has played the plus version of the first. I played the last 20 or 30 minutes of the plot straight through without any deaths. I really don't mind since I wanted to see what would happen next but I'm just stating the facts! It's a good game and to those who haven't played the first one it's a good buy (even though you would have to buy the first one as well...) but it's very far from the 10/10 reviews it's getting.
Actually I liked this. In IB1 it was too easy to pull the magics. In IB2 I won't be able to pull a magic attack unless I do exactly the right move. I remember in IB1 I could just move my figer around and a magic attack would unfold no matter what.
Looks like this is a bugs affair again. IB1 stopped working since the added + n both my iPads. This looks as crashy. I will only get it the day it goes down to a dollar.
Be grateful you have eyes that don't register chronic slowdown then. First battle inside the tower, no matter which enemy the game throws up, is a slideshow. And I'm not the only one to make that complaint. I'm on the same device as you, only I've restored, installed ONLY Infinity Blade 2, rebooted my iPhone prior to launching for the first time and from the point above onward, it's a dogs dinner frame-rate wise. I'm on level 20 now through nothing but morbid perseverance.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug. I can see that I'm drawing the right shape from the trail on the screen and from the proper start but the game registers a completely different shape. For example healing and shock spells have a completely different shape. But the game doesn't seem to want to understand that...
1. You do not know me or my sight (which is perfectly ok, BTW, I have never needed glasses). 2. You do not know my device, how I have it set, or how IB2 works on it. I'm sorry if it does not work well for you. 3. I am not the only one with an iPhone 4 that states that the game works OK either.
FXCK. I just opened the game after a solid 6 hours of progress to a brand new game. Save file totally wiped and I have to start over. I'm fxcking pissed off.
1. Don't be so narky. Perfect vision is not a prerequisite to being able to see dropped frames in a game. 2. Elaborate on your device set up then. I have ran only IB2 on a device with no incoming connections (no 3G, no WiFi, no iCloud, no Push Email). I had 12GB of free space, only IB2 installed. The game DOES lag on iPhone 4 on 5.0.1, in some places more than others and it becomes more apparent at higher levels with faster enemies. I guarantee a lot of folk, and not saying you are one of these people, are reviewing the game based on the opening intro and first two fights. While I do notice drops in frames in all games, the drops in IB2 are so huge at times anyone should see them.
Oh yeah, lag is definitely noticeable, at least for me. I've made sure to clearly point that out in my thread impression. But the lag is definitely more noticeable in cutscenes then fights. Albeit I'm probably not as far as you, but I'm doing impressions for more than just this game and it's a busy release week. Maybe it is smoother for RobertGarcia. Lag isn't going to affect all devices the same. Just as some people still can't run the game while some can.
So, anybody tell me again that this isn't a crappy release? The lag is horrible. Save games vanish. Lots of bugs... bah, chair, how could you... There are serveral dozens of complaints in the App Stores meanwhile.
I Will see if it lags to a point when it becomes an issue and report back. So far it has not. I have fought more than two fights. Edit: What do you want to know exactly about my set up? I basically turned off some things I wasn't using after the iOS 5 battery issue (like location services and such). That's all I've really done really, optimizing my set up for battery life.
