hahahaha all too true my friend. All too true...

I would like to say this is just in iOS, but it's growing on all gaming platforms. PC games in particular are no strangers to bugs on day one launch, especially in open world games, but it's growing like a wildfire through all forms of games. Development is just getting either more lazier with each passing year, and/or the time crunch in which these games are demanded to being pumped out is just getting too much for the staff to handle (and most mobile developers have a small staff compared to console developers anyways). It's just... becoming a mess is all. Making me less excited about day one releases anymore. It's a sad situation in gaming when you actually want to hold off on day one releases in fear that the game has game breaking bugs, or in the situation of this game, bugs and crashes that make the game virtually unplayable without having to find tricks like changing your keyboard to a Japanese one, spinning around 2 times, holding one arm in 47.42897 degree angle, and saying "I'm a pretty girl" before you open the app.

    LOL, qft!

Well, how much iPod touch 4 users might be out there? And how much bought IB2? And then the iPad 1 user. That's a lot. Some bought IB2. Some can't even get the game running. Well... for a major release like this, chair totally crapped the release. This shouldn't be happening. Bugs in freshly released software? - yes, happens again and again. Unplayable game? No-go.

Asked this a little while ago but got no response, too many people posting about the game not running. Has anyone tried the money hack from IB1?

Also has anyone seen if there's a backwards bloodline like in the first game?

Died on the first fight to try it out, nothing special happens. I wouldn't be surprised if this game had similar secrets, but they probably won't be found the same way.

I think the issue is that most of us have been reading every spec of details since this sequel was announced. Dissapointment is a b**** but I bet these big wigs will fix everything right up. I'm lucky to be able to play this game and hopefully everyone else will soon. It's just such a great game I couldn't even understand what I would do without it. Btw bugs are very normal on opening launch and with so many different platform versions I would assume there to be bugs. Everyone needs to just purchase purchase Bards Tale and enjoy while this game gets fixed. Man I love this game!

I was actually referring to the crashing on similar devices with the same specs FW/model, but I agree with what you said about framerates and peoples perceptions. :)

    wow...lots of people experiencing bugs.

I have a gen 4 iPod touch running the last of iOS4 updates (haven't gone to iOS5 yet) and I haven't experienced anything bug wise. I played for a bit last night, I think I'm at level 7 now, and the game has run smooth as butter and without any glitches.

    Loving the Dual sword fights!

Everyone with iPod 4G running iOS 5.0.1 having crashing issues:

    I FOUND A FIX!

All credit goes to Forum member "Samurai" who posted about this a few pages back.

Clear Multitask bar. Open IB2. When Title Screen appears, double-click Home button to open Multitask Bar, leave it open. A Black screen will appear with a loading icon in the bottom corner. Wait. (If nothing happens, touch screen to remove Multitask Bar, then double click Home button again to return Multitask Bar.) The cutscene will eventually play. Do NOT close Multitask Bar. Watch video. When gameplay begins, touch screen to remove Multitask Bar and play!

I've been playing the game with no problems since I did this, and I'm loving it!

Reinstalling the game and will try the method shortly. Will come back with results.

Hmmm, by doing this, I was able to get a little further to where the actual game started. The furthest I could ever get before was the logo, the spinning icon and then I would see the sword "pause" button on the top center of the screen and then crash.

With this the intro started to play, but i got too excited and tapped the screen and it then crashed immediately. :\

Well someone just posted on gamefaqs' infinity blade II forum and said the string for it is in the plist so there must be some way to get to it.

It COULD be leftover code from the first game, but I'm hopeful :)

You deserve a frigging cookie my friend, it worked! The trick looks like to leave the multi-task up for the very first intro scene (dude sitting in the chair).

    Here are steps I used:

    1. clear out Multitask bar
    2. Reboot
    3. start IB. I immediately did the double tap so that the multi-task bar shows
    4. Wait for the IB logo to disappear, screen will be black, wait around 20 -30 seconds.
    5. tap the black screen and you will see a spinning logo on the bottom left.
    6. As soon as logo disappears, the IB Pause button will appear in top center, double click home to bring up multitask bar again. LEAVE IT!
    7. The intro with the dude in chair will play, do not touch anything!
    8. Wait for the black screen and you should hear wind, birds, bells - leave for 20 -30 seconds.
    9. Tap the screen and hopefully, the game will start!

Again, Thanks so MUCH Samurai for posting this! I wonder what it does differently with multi-task up like that?

I'm not closing the game down, so hopefully it will just start up next time... :)
