What Hodapp says would make a lot of sense. With the iPhone event and all.

But it makes you wonder, how would he know? Did someone at Epic Games leak that info out to him? Or is a hint of some sort?

    No.

More info being shown, or the old trailer we've already seen will be shown on Apple's stage.

Its only obvious, unless Epic has totally dropped the ball. Since they did transfer this project to the failed bankrupt team they salvaged out of the RH shenanigans.

Dungeons was shown at iPad3 launch, nothing new since, obvious to expect gain at iPhone launch,

I think Hodapp wouldn't tweet this if he hasn't any info...
Also it makes sense with all the delay of the game...
A scenario in my mind is that they took more time to optimize the game for the new iPhone screen (that's why we didn't see it for so many months after the iPad presentation) and the day of the announcement of the new iPhone, it will be the perfect timing to show us a new trailer of the game and tell us that is available right now on the app store..
The impact will be huge for both sides, because the publicity for IB Dungeons will be huge and for Apple will have the king of the iOS games franchise to be the first optimized game for the new iPhone.
As i said, of course, this is just a scenario in my mind... but hopes come true :)

I am not sure if the game comes out that night but i find almost impossible to just show us the same old trailer... We speak for the presentation of one of the gadgets of the year... They never sells yesterday news in such an important day. Also just for the more info scernario, imo would be a big fall down for both Epic and Apple... I think if will see Epic on stage would be for the announcement of the game and not just to tell us ''Remember a game that show you some months ago?? Now we show you the same game again but as then you cannot play it for who knows how many months again''...
Of course i can be wrong... who knows....

They did for E3. Virtually unchanged, same content in June'12 as was shown at iPad event of March'12, a full 3 months prior.

Its not being done by a Chair or a normal Epic team, they started it, but then transferred the project to a bankrupt team they salvaged.

I dreamed hard for this title, but expectations have dwindled. Hope I'm wrong.

That "bankrupt team" happens to be Big Head Games, which created Kingdoms of Amalulr for 38 Studios -- and by most accounts did a great job with it. In any event, BH never went bankrupt: 38 Studios did, all due to poor management from Curt Shilling on down. KoA was actually a modest hit (over a million copies sold) and should have netted the company a tidy profit, if it hadn't been for their pipe dream of a free-to-play AAA MMORPG.

I would say that Infinity Blade Dungeons is in good hands.

This is different... At E3 was only 3 months later and was a different ''festival'' that the publisher could show what ever he wants... On the iPhone presentation is almost 6 months later and the most important isn't what Epic wants to show, but what Apple accept to show... and for sure they don't want to show the SAME video from the SAME game... imo IF Epic appear to the stage will be for the announcement of the game.. If not in the same night we will take for sure a release date... It is just marketing rules... and i find difficult to finish the presentation with a second ''coming soon''... Of course as i already said this gonna happen IF Epic will be a part of the new keynote.

I do think Apple will include IBD in their press conference. the question is, will it be the September iPhone press conference or will it be the speculated October iPad press conference.

    This is a good question...
But as you can see (attached) till now they use a 10-11 months circle for the iPad release... I have hear the rumors for the October conference but i think is to soon, from the iPad3 release and to close to the new iPhone release. Of course maybe they have something different in their minds for this year and in this case maybe Epic will keep IB Dungeons for the iPad announcement (wrong thread but will be this ''new iPad mini'' so strong to run a game like this?).
We will see, the date is close...
