Nobody's made up their mind about the entire game, just disappointment about the controls which stems from past experience with similar attempts. Only thing that seems truly advanced so far are the graphics, and yes that's appreciated.
I've said the exact same thing about Rage multiple times, but people just can't accept it. Well its a shame the rest of the commentors can't do that, becuase that is at least fair. Saying something is rubbish before you played it bad enough, but saying its rubbish without even seeing a video of it is just stupid. Furthermore, this is a mobile game and in most cases will be played in small short bursts like a bus ride. As such having large areas to move about in just takes longer to get to the next bit of action. I mean thats my biggest gripe with GTA:CW - it can take several minutes to get across town to a new mission.
A thought on pricing: I've seen some disappointment on this thread about the game's price - some feel it's simply too cheap, and some fear it's a reflection of the game's true quality (or lack thereof), some are pleasantly surprised. The biggest thing for a developer in determining price is "How can I make the most money?" For some high quality games, the most money might be made at lower price points. Take EA in the App store for example. Most of their games were never in the Top 10 of the Top Grossing category until they lowered the price of some quality games to $0.99. For other games, millions will buy the game anyway, regardless of price and devs can crank it up to $9.99 or higher. Dungeon Defenders looks really good, but will only be $2.99 There are math equations for this, but my brain hurts just trying to remember them from calculus . . . ugh Regardless, I'm optimistic about this game
I have an analogy Infinity Blade is like the movie Avatar. Revolutionary graphics with a mediocre story. People will buy it for eye candy alone (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) I have not given into the hype of IB, and I won't be a first day buyer, I don't see why everyone is hyped and looking for depth. I don't know much about this game, but I doubt there will be a huge amount of content. Oh yeah... Blablabla infinity blade Blablabla epic bla bla too cheap bla too expensive blabla
Whatever. I loved Avatar. It was pretty, and it had a lot good philosophy, story, and action. Anyhow.
I watched it for the first time the other day after hearing all the hype... I fell asleep 40 mins in, so boring.
"Cleverly, every time you complete the game, which apparently is around 30 minutes of play, your son will return to the castle 20 years later to defeat the God-King once more. He'll have better stats and skills than his ol' pops, but so will your enemies."
Actually the amount of "content" is purely based on the players themselves. If you are the kind of gamer, like me, who enjoys unlocking all the new weapons and gear, a bit of grinding, you will enjoy it. As they stated before every time you die to the God King you come back as your next blood line, with your previous skills, facing even tougher enemies than before. So if that sort of game play sounds interesting this game will last forever. Not to mention more baddies, weapons/armors, new areas of the castle to explore, AND multiplayer are due to come shortly after the release. This game sounds amazing to me, but it's purely based on the kind of player you are.
New preview... Someone embed video please. Edit: Doesn't really show anything we haven't already seen. >_<
Thanks. But we see some seconds of the game between fights. So you got these blue circles you can tap and then you are moving there. And in between, you can look around for treasures, I guess. Visually, it's definitely breathtaking and the fighting mechanic seems very accurate. I also like that they change the camera angle and position during a fight from time to time.
Whose idea was it to hype the hell out of this game, and to let some of these gaming sites comb over almost every detail 2 weeks before release? We've probably already seen half of the fights, including what it'll be like to confront the main adversary - the "God King." Epic's marketing team needs to be smacked. Do we have any surprises to look forward to?
Looks pretty good actually. I'm not a fan of the "tap to move", but the combat looks intense and exciting.
Dear epic games. Please take note that I'm suing u for everything u got. I bumped into this thread and downloaded epic citadel Which blew my mind away. Graphics were so insane and orgasmic that I soon found myself on the bed taking off my pants. While I was doing my thing my girl walked in on me and now she thinks I'm some sort of freak and she's breaking up with me, taking the house, the dog, and my fav toaster. I manage to get her to have some make up sex but she caught me reading this thread about upcoming release of your game on my iPhone while we were doing it and she's more pissed than ever. In spite we're now in a custody battle over the iPhone as well. You've ruined my life. You've been served. Thank you.
