Infinity Blade fits the game. 1) there is an infinity blade that basically kills and absorbs peoples essence 2) this game could go on for infinity until the evil God King is destroyed.
I don't understand though, why people aren't as excited about the gameplay? It seems like a hybrid of Chaos Rings (which required multiple playthroughs and was linear) and Fruit Ninja (reflexive fun)... @Scott Colbert, lol, why must you be eagle eyed. I seriously didn't even remember it was still November
Did anybody else notice in the screenshots that characters don't cast shadows? For a graphical showpiece, why would they not implement shadows?
I have to agree and disagree with BOTH sides of the argument. I think the game may not be an amazing gaming experience, but for those of us who like to explore all the content a game has to offer, example unlocking all weapons etc. this game will last a LONG time. With updates too, that's fantastic. $5.99 is NOT too much, if anything is too cheap for this quality of a game. This actually worries me, as people were shocked at how cheap Rage HD was and low and behold the game sucked majorly. That's fine if you like it, I just personally think it was a cheap point and shoot flash game with pretty make up. I just hope this is an introductory price, and the game turns out to be fantastic.
I think, it's ridiculous to compare a huge game with a deep storyline, complex gameplay and hours and hours of fun with an impressive (for sure) but rather short mini-game.
http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/1158302356/ibt.png You're not the only one. Hype has the opposite effect on me. Too much of it can kill my interest. And IGN practically gave away the entire damn game in their reviews. I don't have much to look forward to now. Shadows require a lot of processing power that iDevices probably don't have right now.
Those are 2D shadows. Trying to accurately render shadows for a full 3D character requires a lot of horse power. This is why the shadows under most 3D characters are usually done with soft circles.
Sure hope there's a good game play mechanic behind this. For me, Rage is a beauty that will never be played again unless I want to show someone what the i-device is capable of. Then I'll turn it off an fire up a three match game that I've been playing for weeks.
I meant those are shadows based off 2D characters. Those kinds of shadows require fewer calculations than shadows based on 3D characters. And I think the characters in Infinity Blade have soft shadows. They're visible in the trailer. But if they aren't, oh well. There probably weren't enough resources available to do them. Don't worry about it.
