M jst saying . . .is like ive made up my mind not to get anything new off itunes atm until i can buy either Infinity or Aralon. Even passed up a sale on that red-shift app. nutts. Oh and i figured out whts going on with the approval process. . . Google - Lemur with Stick - first image result should do it.
I hear you bro but we all read tht it was a couple of days ago, a couple of days ago. And I got a good feeling about 2night. It Definitively being - a couple of days later now. I just wish they hadnt told us about this until they were done releasing it. . . i knw I knw. . . its called mar-ket-ing. But still.
How great would it be if we were to play the same kind of game these developers are playing? Instead of buying Infinity Blade as soon as it comes out, we should wait for about 2 or 3 weeks before buying it, and keeping telling them "Don't worry. We'll buy it soon. " What they're doing isn't very nice at all. I have patience, but a lot of people don't, and they're playing into that.
I second that. But then again, I know I'll lack the will power and buy it instantly. I'm following chair on twitter and tried to post a tweet and message to them, asking that they check out this site and maybe see what holding if there's a time frame for AppStore submission... Alas, they're not a follower, so that didn't work.
whatever. waypoints or rails, both bad. Take a freaking example of Epic Citadel. Cant you guys @epicgames seem to understand i want to walk myself, and explore myself, in graphics as awesome as this?
With great graphics come limitations. The only reason Rage looked so good was because it was on rails.
i remember seeing a video showing different locations to go to. different castles so to speak. So it would be very possible to achieve and first person walking, and those epic fights. just limit the area where you can walk in.
WTF!!! This thread shows at least 70 sites but I can only reach to 68! WTF!?!? This is not the first time I can't reach the last site. This forum has been broken for a long time
It would've been completely possible for that game to be off rails. The reasons for it being was on-rails were: - They already had the Doom: Ressurection codebase, which they used for RAGE. - It's easier and cheaper for the developers - It's less risky by making a small scale game and selling it cheap - It's a way of "testing the waters" to see if games like it will sell And I didn't think the graphics were even that great, especially when compared to Epic Citadel.
Come on, guys. We can do it! Let's wait until February before we buy this game! Probably just a glitch in the thread page numbering. The other 2 pages don't really exist.
I read some article that said if Rage wasn't on rails it wouldn't look as nice. The graphics don't look that great compared to Epic Citadel/Infinity Blade because they didn't have any graphical enhancements for later generation devices besides adding Retina support for the iPhone 4. Also, Rage has more characters on screen and runs at 60 frames per second.
On rails? Hasn't the developers said multiple times it's not? Isn't the same "point to move" system found in the Epic Citadel demo being used, not the analog stick option but the other one that allows you to move by simply touching the screen? I thought I've read at least once before that the same movement system is being used?!
They used megatextures in the levels, and being on-rails helped because of the fixed perspectives. If they hadn't decided to use the Doom Resurrection codebase and make it on rails, then they could've designed it from scratch, completely free movement, with graphics just as good. But obviously that would've taken more time and money. The developers did say it wasn't on-rails, but the game is sort of on-rails. It's not the point to move system in Epic Citadel (if it was I'd be more excited). Instead it's like Myst where you are given different paths and when you click on a path, you move in that direction and come to a stop, then you repeat the process. So it's essentially on-rails, but the rails fork off in different directions. At least the point and click system in Epic Citadel allows you to go wherever you wish. But this game will only allow you to move along predetermined paths.
They are not making a fail. Why do people get so hung up on that kinda stuff. It's not a big deal. The combat is the meat and potatoes to Infinity Blade, which looks like total awesome! Don't compare this to Rage. That game had nothing to it. No unlockables, no scoring, no achievements, no content to speak of...other than shoot the mutant. Infinity Blade looks like a fleshed out title, with many extras coming down the pipeline after it's release. It seems to have replay value as well. As another said, this looks like Fruit Ninga (a great game) on steroids. Infinity Blade looks like an attempt to fuse the casual nature of the AppStore, with the desires of hardcore gamers.
I will try to take hope out of the first videos where you see a selecting screen of multiple areas, that point to the direction of normal possibilities of first person.but they could **** this up Come on i want first person....
