Just diving into this thread so apologies of any of this has been said before...

Personally, I am absolutely LOVING this game. I see from the AppStore reviews that some folks are having problems. Some observations/recommendations:

Play through the single-player campaign to quickly net a HUGE LOAD of one-time xp, equivalent to multiple player levels (earning free tanks which can be cannibalised for parts, cards and unlocking level restricted tanks and gear slots in the process. w00t.

    There are two 'levels':
    - Player level is based on XP, earned through playing both single-player campaign/drills and multi-player games.
    - Tank level is based on gear: seems to be linked specifically to main gear (chassis + wheels + engine + turret + cannon / 5), rather than modules but might be wrong.

Stuff sold through the 'Tanks' hangar always keeps a 'spare' back: this is useful.

Stuff sold through the 'Inventory' button does not sell equipped gear HOWEVER it makes it possible to sell any 'spares'. It is always worth keeping at least one set of spare, crap main gear back to swap into newly earned tanks, as a means of cannibalising gear so you can offer it up against your main ride, for improvements. You can then sell a 'spare' tank in the safe knowledge that it's loaded with crap gear.

I have hit one catastrophic failure where I ducked out of the game while browsing my 'Brigade' (TouchArcade, naturally). The game then consistently crashed to homescreen on load - even after clearing out multitasking AND performing a hard reboot (power + home button, until blackscreen). A full reinstall recovered the game and, as Atypical link your inventory online, I didn't lose any progress.

What do the skulls and crowns mean in the post-match score board?

It's been a couple days now, and I've REALLY gotten my money's worth out of the game. I can not heap enough accolades on atypical for a fantastic non-FTP game.

Now... What's next for Infinite Tanks? I've played thru all the single player stuff, and have played probably a hundred online games. It's starting to loose my interest. There's no more "goals" to achieve. How about a leader board, or vendettas, or more daily goals?

Again - I've more than gotten my money's worth. The servers could permanently crash tomorrow and I would not feel ill-used.

    Thanks, Atypical.

That is most interesting! Those Beta parts were not meant for the general public. That's a keeper!

In reply to your later post about getting bored already #, updates will include at least one new beautiful map, and possibly (a) game type(s) as well.

Wait, how can you get bored when there are live humans online to play against? That's rhetorical... but I find tons of satisfaction knowing I'm pitting myself against a human or humans online. It's the single player that I don't really care about. But people? They adapt. They are smart and dangerous. I don't get bored playing cat and mous with them and blasting them with tank rounds :)

    The future:
Very soon (a matter of days): Bug fixes, visual improvements (rendering) and new multiplayer modes (brawl). This new mode implements crazy games intended to be different from the usual flow of the game. As for now the types of games that will be available are:
    1. Rockets only with short reload times - all players will have the same vehicle, equipped with rocket launchers. Reload time will be very short.
    2. Machine gun only low life - all players will have the same vehicle, equipped with heavy machine guns and life will be low.
    3. High speed - players will play their own vehicles but the speed of the vehicle will be almost double compared to the one in the normal games.
    4. Artillery - vehicles are equipped with mortars that have a very long range and shorter reload times.
As we'll have more ideas they can be implemented without a game update.

For the med term (months): New campaign missions and a new map that brings a new game mechanic (lakes and rivers are frozen and you can break the ice beneath the enemies so they fall in the water). New parts (tank, td, secondary weapons, upgrades). New game modes - Last Team Standing and Capture the Flag, PvE.

Regarding interest - maybe the progression is too slow. What I can say is that as you advance through levels, the online gameplay changes. This comes mostly from the parameters evolution. Some increase more than the others so a different strategy is recommended. Some examples: armour increases more than penetration, for higher levels is very hard to penetrate an enemy from the front; speeds increase so the dynamic of the entire battlefield changes - it's easier to flank, to go in strategic points; etc.

Good to hear you have big plans, I'm enjoying my daily blast. My rush in and blast all tactic needs some refinement. :D

How many different patterns are there?

Could we possibly get "paint job" presets? I'm probably not alone in that I like to give all my tanks the same "signature" look, and it's tough to do, especially finding the same pattern. Maybe If the patterns had numbers it'd be easier.

Camouflage textures (patterns) are generated (code using Perlin noise). No way to have presets as this would mean to manually pick some patterns for each tank...and save them in a list...just too much volume. If we had non generated textures...the game would have been much bigger in size...that's too big even now - real barrier for people to get it.

What about being able to store a generated texture? You could maybe freeze five patterns and store them, as you can store chat messages now?

Ya... That would scratch MY itch. Could be stored locally since there's no performance advantage.

nice... Now that I have a set of three "betas", what bonus do they confer? Ive noted that the Lvl 7 beta engine is a better pick than a Lvl 19 non-beta engine since it completes the set of three (including beta lvl 19 legendary gun, and beta Lvl 17 epic chassis)

Edit - I've noted that the beta bodys have an "AB" graffiti graphic on them. What's the story there?

It stands for Atypical Beta. These are parts that those participating in the Open Beta will occasionally be rewarded with after a game. These are just some little special-looking looking parts as perks for doing the Beta. Other people can find them via trade, as you did, if a Beta or Atypical person put them up for trade.

I'm not sure I like the scaling down of my tank for multi player. You count on a certain amount of performance from your machine, and then it gets nerfed when you enter a game. The dynamic of the game changes a lot as you move up the levels. All the sudden, for example, your frontal armor is like styrofoam. Where you used to be able to count on a few ricochets, all the sudden your getting penetrated like Miley Ray Cyrus at a Micky Mouse convention.

I suppose it's a trade-off for not being able to find higher level games.

Your tank is scaled down in MP only when you go against opponents with lower level tanks. As long as there is a room filled with opponents with similar tank levels, your tank is no longer scaled up or down.

I've purchased almost every game Atypical has put out. Even though I'm not very good at flying games. I love supporting premium game developers. I've gotta say, I'm truly loving this game. It's much more my "type" of game. I'd like to see the rewards for multiplayer jiggled a little. That's really the only complaint about the game. I was worried it'd be very time consuming to level up. Then I actually started playing the Drills. Can't recommend playing them enough. The rewards are insane. I started playing them when I was at level 12. I'm now level 43 and have a little less then half of the Drills left to complete. Can't wait to see what's coming in updates!

I think the Espionage feature is a work of genius ... Think another tank is overpowered? Grab it and take a look, take a test drive even ... Nice.

I can second the comment about playing through the campaign and drills to progress, much loot to be had there.

Does it still get hot when running? I mean my ip7+ got quite hot when playing for about 10mins. Has this been patched/fixed?

You can trade amongst players in game? Like in mmorog when you get auction houses?

Card trading is in there, not dabbled much myself though.

I don't really feel the heat (iPad Pro 9.7) but it does seem to chew battery. Not a big deal for me but for some ...

Will iap be added in the future, as with several of your previous games? Will the game balance be changed to encourage the purchase of iaps?

A good example would be Battle Supremacy. I purchased the extra campain, the night missions, and a premium tank (the Crusader). A later update changed the price of upgrades to the point it became nigh impossible to purchase a high level upgrade through gameplay.

I own every game you've released, btw. Except for the WW1 air combat game...I -did- own it, until the publisher switched, leaving me unable to download it from the cloud.
