The save doesnt seem to work for me. Went back to continue from where i saved because i fell into the water and died, and when i loaded, it started me back from the beginning of the game. EDIT: Spoiler Ah... it seems when you die you restart from the docks but everything is still saved?
Wow what impresses me most about this game is the file size. How is that possible?? Anyhow I don't like scary things really but from the good feedback this one has I may have to give it a go.
Dying restarts the game but does not delete save file so you can manually load from a previous save, you have to manually save and manually load as you see fit. There is only one save slot and no auto-save (auto-save could leave you cornered in a game like Indigo Lake). Indigo Lake plays by classic manual only save/load rules so if you don't routinely save then you'd get hosed on death. I love that particular death animation, it's so disorienting and odd lending well to a game like this. It really confused me at first but later I "got it".
Downloaded the woods for free, played 5 minutes, loved what I saw, bought Indigo Lake. I'm going to sleep now, so I'll have to wait for tomorrow to play, but this game looks awesome!
Ok... then my game is glitched? I saved on the Spoiler bridge where the girl jumped off, and i tried to look for the body below and there was a ghost, i tried to shoot it i fell and died. I was able to save on the bridge, right before she fell and whenever i "load" the saved game, it reloads from the docks.
Edit: You might be on to something. I toyed around with the load/save for a bit and early on it also restarted at the dock for me (with progress retained on load) but later on death it seems to auto-load you back at the location of the save. I'm not sure if this is intentional but any disruption seems minimal since your progress is retained on load even if booting you back to dock. Maybe 3Cubes can clarify. Spoiler I experienced auto-load to last save point on death as early as the first cabin note, but before that it rebooted my progress on death and started loads (progress retained) at dock.
Holy shizzz this game is to freaky, gives me goosebumps when playing. The best horror game ever. Hopefully when I go to sleep I dont shit myself of thoughts of the game Seriously where is the refund button, so you can have your horror game back. Eeeeek. Lol
Hell take me... This game is effed up. Seriously. I have the lights off with just the game as my lightsource, the airconditioner full blast at my face for serious chills and goosbumpiness, and with my Philips O'Neill overear headphones at max volume and this game on my hands. Doesnt get any better than that... And i have only scratched the surface of this game. No doubt. GotW for me. Not even Simogo's brilliant Device 6 is going to win over this in terms of the game's impact on me. I am even putting this on my best-of-iOS-games-ever list. 3 Cubes, you made a friggin masterpiece here. "Peek-a-boo. PEEK-A-BOO."
