It‘s massively dumb, at least for iOS. Afaik Jailbreaking is as good as dead, same in turn goes for piracy. Different story for Android I guess but why should iOS players suffer for this …
Hi everyone! This is Lauren from the Indies' Lies team. Thanks Ringerill for bringing me here! It's great to see so much feedback and support from all of you. I'll comb through the issues you mention and submit to the development team. We're also already looking into some of the problems you've mentioned, for example we're working on offline support for the game. Feel free to join our discord server as well! A lot of discussion going on there as well! discord.gg/GN4Dfq52AD And you can follow our Twitter page for timely updates: https://twitter.com/IndiesLies
Yea balancing is a tough issue, especially as we wanted to make the game beginner-friendly as we want to introduce more players to the roguelike deckbuilder genre. I'll let the team know about OP cards/buff problem and see if they can make adjustments in the future
More information on the camps can be found on main menu 'Story' - 'Camps'. For each character, there's a 'story adventure', which is a run where you'll play as the character, and experience events that follow a full story of the character with a lot of conversations beside the normal battle, shop, altar stuff. When you collect all the 'clues' for 1 character, you can unlock his/her story adventure. And yes we're working on offline support. Stay tuned!
P First off welcome to the forums !! Secondly the game is amazing thank you from everyone lol. Also no no. Balancing really isn’t an issue. It felt like it at first. But that was the basic level and level one. Two and three weren’t hard either. But now I’m on difficulty 4 and I’m struggling made it to the final boss twice out of about 6 or 7 attempts and lost to him both times. Game heat much harder and nothing feels op. I had an insane setup of cards and talents and lost. So I don’t think it needs balancing. The biggest issue seems to be the online requirement. And it seems to be for varying reasons. Many just don’t want to use data or can’t get online always. Many are worried about data mining or whatever that is lol. And someone like me and a few others I think are worried about a game that needs a server. So if you decide or in a few years when game is no longer profitable and the server goes down well then we can’t play this game anymore. So one it makes people not want to buy the inn app or two makes People nervous about sinking too much time into it. I personally love to keep my games. Specially one like this. So the chance the server will go down and I won’t be able to play worries me. But for now I’m having a blast. Your pay model is insane and game is worth more. What you give for free is incredible. I will buy the inn apps to support. I didn’t initially because of the online requirement. But I have played so much I feel like I owe you guys lol. But ya I think you will get way more downloads and support once you make the game offline. There really doesn’t seem to be any reason this game should be online. Also o have to give you a big congrats on the initial setup of this game. It oozes polish and love of the genre. And my initial review here and thoughts discussed how you made a game that was so easy for someone to step into this genre. So forgiving and the best tutorial I have ever seen in possibly any game. It’s was a fun playable tutorial with so much easy to understand info. Many of us here love these types of games so for us maybe there was too much info. But for someone new to this, it’s incredible. Even for me and possibly others I watched all the little videos and read everything because I was so impressed and wanted to experience it all. Don’t be worried about being compared to slap the spire. Will you get that balancing? Maybe not. Even if you did would people notice ? Maybe not. Slay the spire is the benchmark for these now. And even if one surpasses it it’s hard for people to notice. It’s now the original and the one that inspires others and clearly this. But let me tell you this. You are certainly on the same level. You have done something incredible. Taken Slay and evolved it by adding some amazing twists, great graphics and added fun. You took the best of an incredible game and instead of muddling it or making it worse you added awesome features to make an incredible game of your own. Anyone who love slay should have this on their phone right next to it. Kudos on a great app. But for best advice we can give is make the game fully playable offline. That way all the different issues people worry about are non existent and this game will flourish. I wish you the best of luck with this game and any future endeavors. All the best, El
Lol we figured this out. Few of us got to a story. Again this game just keeps giving. So much has been added for replay value. Yes keep that mentality. Not offline mode though. Fully offline game lol. Also raise the price of admission lol. Or make it one character for free. Ya I may get unpopular for this comment. But your game is giving too much for too little. Easily worth $20 plus in my opinion. But that would for sure only be if it’s offline so you know your buying something you can keep………. Till another possible App Store Armageddon lol. Ahhhhh
It also feels incredible to play on mobile, unlike StS which is the picture next to the dictionary definition of "Port". I believe the Android version serves ads to non-paying customers. I think that's very fair, and would be a good idea for iOS too.
Finally beat level 4 lol. First try after last post. That was an epic battle. Good cards not even great and just ok talents. But I will say myself, (if that’s ok…lol), it was just some good playing and smart deck building. Do not (especially for new players to the genre) underestimate the power of replacing a card. Just so not used to that being an option. I’m still getting used to even knowing it is one. But damn I took advantage this run and that was the difference for sure. This game is so good lol.
you all have released arguably the most polished looking card roguelike on the App Store yet. I’m hooked. Any plans for additional characters?
haha no, I’m just impatient and curious. So far, I’ve used all the wizards at least once or twice, have done several runs as Diego and Jannsen, but most of my runs have been as Oleg cuz he’s the man.
THIS. Replacing vs just adding another card to your deck is the “secret sauce”…. Being able to add a card while also paring your deck down is what’s lead to some of my most lethal runs.
Funny I have only used Albert. So many runs. He’s just so fun. I may start to try others. Or finally finish alberts story. I just kept wanting to unlock more with him. Think I have all his cards unlocked now maybe not seen them all though. But last game said I also unlocked a new occupation (not sure what that means) and two more cards. So much more to do. With both slay and night of I beat the game on multiple difficulties with all characters. So I have a lot to do here lol.
Yes everything you said yes. Heck if you made a paid offline version for $10 or something, I'd buy it. Like elcrazy said, I don't want to invest my time and money into something that can disappear at any time. I liked StS but I disliked the port. HOWEVER, I'm fine with the money spent, because I can just get the app back later if I choose to. I don't have to worry about the game shutting down servers next year because suddenly people stopped buying the app. But yeah, single player games with tons of replayability and depth deserve an offline.
Okay that’s enough of that. If you feel like you must continue the conversation, please PM me. This thread is not the place. — I hate how much I love this game. It’s amazing. In many ways it feels like Slay the Spire, but with so many small and not-so-small clever twists that it feels incredibly fresh. My one concern was difficulty. I completed the map with the first character the first time I played. What’s interesting is that I then went straight into the next difficulty. And then the next. In Slay the Spire I never bothered with ascension difficulties, but here the intent behind them feels very different. Amazing. Spectacular. I just wish the English was better @Laurenxy
honestly, I put StS down because I’m sick of getting constantly bodied each run. StS is almost TOO balanced, if there can be such a thing. I’m genuinely appreciating the ability to ENJOY most runs, as opposed to StS where like 1/20 runs may be good. I too hopped right into the next difficulties, where as StS, I actually avoided ascending so I can attempt a heart kill. Insane to think %100 completion on StS requires A20 Wins for each character. I don’t have that type of time. Lol
I’m also appreciating all the fresh mechanics that come from a new developer with a new vision. I’m sure if Slay the Spire released a new character with new mechanics I’d be ALL over that. But they haven’t, and this game is EXACTLY what I wanted now that it’s been a year or two since I put down Slay the Spire.
Congrats @Laurenxy - great game Any plans for supporting bigger screens - I’d love to play it native on my iPad
