Stuck on Sunshine -- Fate! I am stuck on Fate in the Sunshine system. I have 29 Starpieces. I have no idea how to get to the Starpiece on the big platform above all of the Sun Dials. Underneath the Starpiece I need to get, it looks like there is a gravity beam I need to activate (there is a red pulsating light on the bottom of it). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I for one, welcome the new high quality music. As soon as I started playing it was a much more immersive experience. In fact, by keeping the sound effects at their "rusty" quality, the contrast between how barren everything is with the high quality background ambiance makes it even better and more apparent. Very glad with this and now I will see this game through the end with great pleasure. Thank you so much, Dene! It made a bigger difference then I even anticipated myself!
Cool. Glad it helps. It also didn't alter the size too hideously, so all seems good. Note to self: if you're going to mess about with degradation as part of an aesthetic, be careful how often you use it in audio, as it can wear the ears out. Weird people don't find this with pixel graphics, eh?
As soon as I got to Kindword, the sound effects quit. The music plays fine, however that is the only sound. I "rebooted" "reset" the Ipad twice, but that did not help. Right when it loads on the Kindword system, it seems like for just a split second that the sound effects work, then they disappear. Any ideas of what I should do, Dene?
Wow. Nope. No idea. Never heard of that before. Even if the game 'runs out of sounds' it has elegant ways to recover. I'll look into it.
Thanks for looking into it Dene. I just got to the DreadThought system and the same thing -- for a *split* second the sound effects seem to start, then nothing. BTW, I *love* the game!
Okay, so I'm having no luck reproducing this. I've just played right through 60 stars (KindWord) without a hitch. All I can suggest is toggling the sound on and off from the pause menu and seeing if that alters it. This is a weird issue, to be sure. If you're not running any other sound apps or music, I can't think what could cause it. Yuck. And sorry. But mostly yuck.
Just so it's known... I haven't experienced any sound issues since the update (or beforehand), on my iPad2, running iOS 5.01. I did just update to 5.1 today, and will try and play through the game tomorrow.
I toggled both the sound and music on and off a couple of times and it worked! Not only can you make a great game, you can troubleshoot it!
Phew. Glad it all worked out! Also very glad you're enjoying the game. It's always lovely to hear when people like your work - especially when it was so darned hard to make.
Okay - as promised, the (far too long to be financially viable) introductory offer period is now over. Expect a price rise pretty soon. I know this runs counter to the usual financial models, but these days I feel price-drops are a bit of a kick in squishies for early adopters. Instead, I can say: congratulations to all of you who got a version early on, and thanks for your support. You may now bask in the fact that you got Incoboto cheaper than anyone else* Dene *bar pirates**, of course, who would still pirate if I made it 99c. **we should find another word for them, really. 'Indie dev killers'? It's certainly more accurate.

Well, the guy you quoted managed to figure it out. You might, too, if you think differently about the problem . Here's a great interview with Dene from PocketGamer.
