I'm a bit tired of these 10-second platformers. I would love to see that style with bigger levels, cool worlds, end bosses, great level design etc. But still, it's one of the better.
I know what you mean, i do love Orange Pixel's platformers but i do wish there would be one game with large levels, (Obviously some type of 'object' you go past where it saves your progress). I can see why they have smaller levels as a lot of people have a 'pick up and have a quick go' view of a lot of apps but a huge 'Mario Land' type world with different levels etc would be brilliant. Really enjoying Inc, some of these 'radar' things are cleverly tucked away But yeah to me Orange Pixel are the 'kings' of the platform games, but would love one huge epic game with longer levels (not as difficult as Stardash, some levels were a nightmare to finish !), that would be a dream
Have you vote? ONE LAST DAY to make INC become Touch Arcade Game of the Week. [thread=112918]VOTE HERE[/thread]
good news, we are adding in the option to move the touch-areas to what ever place you like. basically if you are an alien with no thumbs you should be able to find a way to play this game It won't be in the update that is currently waiting approval, but it will be in the next one!
PLEASE consider improving performance. I understand that is a tall order for the programmers, but 60 fps would make a HUGE difference. Even 30 fps would be an improvement. The game just isn't smooth at all. I kind of am. It makes a world of difference in playability and I'm surprised people accept less. Even back in the 80s and 90s, 60 fps was THE standard for 2D action games. 99% of the games across the SNES, Genesis, and NES were all scrolling at 60 fps. It dramatically improves the gameplay experience. INC features very simple, but retro inspired visuals. The current iPhones should be able to handle a game like this at a high framerate without breaking a sweat. There are already plenty of examples of this. Do you think those Cave shooters would be anywhere near as playable at 20 fps? I don't think so. Even various Unreal Engine 3 games (such as Epoch, Dark Meadow, and Gyro 13) run at a near perfect 60 fps on the 4S and iPad2. I understand games like INC are created by smaller teams, but there are plenty of low budget games pushing 60 on the platform already (MOS Speedrun, Grim Joggers, the Hook games, 1-Bit Ninja, Bean's Quest, Pizza Boy, Glow Fish, Hypership, etc). I don't think it's too much to ask.
This is great news! Even though, I'm fine with the controls as they are, this will be an awesome addition!
To be honest i'm not that bothered by the framerate, plays fine to me, videos of the game in action look great. I'm not 'accepting less' just for 69p i'm very happy with the quality of the game. I'm sure theres many other platform games on iOS which dont run at 60 fps, still excellent games and 99% of people i dont think really realise/are bothered. Come on, move away from the framerate, talk about something else
Hmm, maybe I'll get INC at least. I've seen AppSpy review just a while ago and I'm impressed by the visuals - congrats! About 60fps in platformers - League of Evil is also 30fps game and everybody loves it But unfortunately it works quite slow since couple of updates :/ Don't know why... Anyway - I always tried to maintain 60fps in my Commander Pixman on every device and I think I've done it. But I don't think this is something incredibly crucial.
New version of INC is now on the market. - You can now position your control buttons anywhere you want. - We fixed a couple of small bugs - and the screen will now rotate if you prefer the power button on the left side
On 'world 2' I'm against a big robot who fires rockets and stones fall down. Don't seem to land any hits on him? Any clues how to hit him?
Try jumping on the rockets, get on the top rocket, and shoot at his face.. do this a couple of times to get results
Ahhhh ! Nearly did that as well, my fault ! Thanks for replying (i had this second emailed you as well) Cheers, shall try this later.
This may seem like a stupid question, but where is the third booster in Issue 5 of Wasteland? I can't find it anywhere.
k... Issue 5 of Wasteland - The first one is out in the open - The second one - after you shoot that switch for the platforms that come up, and cross the big gap, you'll go across two floating platforms, one with a black jumpy circle on it, and then reach a main-land section. The booster here is hidden on the back part of the second section that's sticking up - right before you get to the part where spiders are falling from the gap in the top section there... here's a pic - The third booster is out in the open -
And syntheticvoid saves the day again! so it's the second one im searching for, not the third haha, thanks a bunch!!!
