Since I've only had iPod Touches and the 4th Gen finally has a camera what are some older apps that use the camera that I've missed out on?
My favs for photos: Pocketbooth PictureShow You Gotta See This! PS Express Pano Bill Atkinson PhotoCard Camera+ (only because I have the unlocked version which allows volume buttons to snap photos instead of tapping the screen) Video: ReelDirector - Pretty much a full blown editor miles ahead of the iMovie app. CinemaFXV - This is an app of filters to use in conjunction with ReelDirector. Tons of plugins, each with their own settings. Both of these apps also output at 780p.
Aside from the obvious better quality of the iPhone4 still camera: - AutoStitch. Works flawlessly in making panoramic photos. Need more MPixels to make it really work. - RedLaser. Not used it, but heard its great for scanning barcodes of items and doing pricechecks on Amazon.com for you - Hipstamatic. Nostalgic flashback to the 70s/80s(?) when this was popular, featuring interchangable lenses (optional extra IAP), quite good fun. - Face Fighter. Really stupid silly beat-em up, where you take photos of friends, family, or even strangers as the face, and then you beat them silly with outrageous kung fu chops and kicks. Really hilarious when I saw this kid in the doctor's waiting room snapping photos of his sister then other patients to play this! Lite version available. - I'm Expecting. Obviously not for everyone (!), but this pregnancy tracker app helpfully offers a photo log of how big your baby is over the weeks and months. Priceless for those who know how touching this experience can be. Not sure of the app names, but I'm sure there are several Augmented Reality apps that alow you to look at somewhere, and it will tell you the nearest underground station, bank, pub, etc etc. But those might need GPS too, so probably of limited value to iPod Touch owners outside of wifi reach.
The iPhone build of ARDefender was submitted over the weekend, and should be available soon; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k56ZtfZYG7E
Ugh... I really wish ARDefender could come out before the end of the week so I could have something fun to play before all the hell I have to go through at work this weekend. And here's a video of the game playing on a much cooler device:
The most fun camera app I've used is ARFootball (ARSoccer in US) http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/arfootball-augmented-reality/id381035151?mt=8. It's amazing how accurate it is, it never ceases to entertain me.
does anybody know of a timelapse maker that I could make take a picture every 5 minutes or so for like 12 hours? It would have to go to sleep between pics or something but i dunno if thats possible
I've been an iphonographer for the past year and these are the apps that have stood out the most: VIDEO EDIT: 1. Reel Director ---------- basically a more feature-rich imovie app. 2. VintageMaker --------- adds old-movie filter effects to iphone videos. 3. Slowmo ---------- can render any iphone video in slow motion with sound syncing and fast/slow option 4. StopMotionRecorder--- a very easy-to-use tool for making stop motion videos. 5. VideoPix --------------- can take a single frame from any iphone video (great for action sequences) PHOTO EDIT: 1. Hipstamatic ----------- Vintage photography that simulates film and lenses selection. Charges for add-ons can be expensive. 2. Picture Show ---------- A quicker, less expensive version of hipstamatic that does not charge for add-ons, and skips out on the camera parts simulation. 3. Photogene ------------- A multi-tool for saturation, cropping, etc. 4. ColorSplash ----------- Renders all pics black/white with option to color the photo using swipes with the touchscreen 5. ToonPaint ------------- just like color splash but "cartoonizes" the picture creating a comic book effect. Can create colors. 6. Touch Retouch--------- remove unwanted objects in photos. Context aware healing brush found in photoshop. 7. AutoStitch ------------- forget Pano!!! When settings are set properly, this auto-stitching panorama app blends multiple photos into vertical and horizontal panoramas. 8. TiltShiftGen ----------- Tilt shift camera effect. Although this app has one function only, it still creates the best looking photos with this effect. 9. 3D camera ------------ No glasses needed. Uses the dual-picture option to create 3d effect. Cross-eyed users will love it. 10. iTimeLapse ----------- Create time-lapse movies and save to camera roll 11. Say What!?! ---------- a picture app that allows you to create puppet mouths that speak pre-set or recorded messages (Everyone really loves to see this one in action) Although there are some useful apps missing from here, and the selection is always debatable by any various standards, these are the ones that I constantly go to for editing and showing off iOS.
There is a review for ARfootball stating that is does not work with iPod Touch 4g. Can anyone verify this as truth?
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/itimelapse-pro-time-lapse/id335866860?mt=8 nvm, weehoo mentioned it. =D
Does anyone know if there are any free alternatives to Autostitch Panorama? If not, is Autostitch Panorama worth buying?
