Think youre pushing it now ! Dont think you can create save states, does seem to save high scores though
Wiimote control? Does anyone know how to get the wiimote to work without jailbreaking for the the mame app? Have no icade yet
I don't think there's any way to get a Wii Remote to work without jailbreaking. iCade or any iCade compatible controller should work, though, like the iControlPad. Not that that is cheap or anything, but there you go. I just decided to order one, though. $60.xx shipped from ThinkGeek.com after $5 off coupon I got from signing up for their newsletter (including shipping). Seems more practical than the iCade and can be used for the iPad as well as iPhone. Now that I can play iMame, there's a lot more reason to have something like this.
Two questions: 1. Has anybody gotten Gauntlet or Donkey Kong to work? 2. How the bloody **** is this still on the app store?!
Gauntlet i have, funny to hear 'warrior needs food' etc. Havent tried Donkey Kong I think its still on the app store as it has 'legal' roms supplied with it, just like many other games you can adjust things using iExplorer.
Played the first two levels of Donkey Kong last night and it worked great. The controls for 720 were awful though and I might have to look for a different version.
Hi, I just received an iCade and in a totally randomized situation, iMame came out as well. Tried it out with some games on my iPad2, it works well. Only problem, the controls are a b**** to configure. Ok, I go into the options to configure the controls but some of the buttons will read "JOY 1 or JOY2 BUTTON 3" so that button will affect both players. Is there a .ini file that I can retrive from iExplorer to configure it on my PC so that it matches the iCade configuration correctly? Thanks!
A couple games that should be known to the average casual gamer and can be played on imame are: Mario bros Donkey kong Flicky Space invaders Mortal combat Golden axe
It detects my component cables when they are attached so it seems that it supports video out . Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
Yeah i'm surprised by that original comment. I've played a fair few games on my ipod and i'm loving it. And again for lots of other games have a search on the net for screenshots or youtube videos, some may have funny names or japanese names but often theyre an excellent shoot em up or platform game. I've gone for the 'big' names to begin with but slowly adding a few gems as well
Thanks guys, I'll try it out as soon as I can. If someone would tell me 15 years ago that I will be able to carry around tons of arcade games in my pocket I would consider it as a good joke Man, this is one of the best (and most expensive) months in iOS gaming I've had - Final Fantasy II, III, Tactics, Chrono Trigger, Sonic CD and many many MANY more... I was wondering, if iMAME got approved in the AppStore maybe some other emulators (SNES, Sega etc.) could make it through the approval process...? That would be a dream come true for me.
Totally agree, dream come true today with all these classics, as you say years back i wouldnt have believed it ! And yeah i thought the same about iSNES, if someone released it with homebrew 'legal' roms or remakes i wonder if thats a way of slipping through the net ?

Frankly, I doubt it. MAME has the advantage of not focusing on one single company. Nintendo or Sega can claim that there is proprierary code on everything that was ever released on their consoles, regardless of publishers.
