Ok I have been following this since release and have found a ton of help, my one question is when trying to run tiger heli, I get a black screen that just says "bad hw". It does this on every version except the bootlegs, which play great. Does anyone know of a way to correct this?
Tiger Heli Funny, I myself just got the same issue, about 20min ago, loaded the Rom in and also got BAD HW, it must be a higher ver than .37b5.
Hmmm, I downloaded them from a b5 romset so they should work. Oh well at least the bootlegs work. Can't wait to get the iCade too bad I need to buy textbooks.
Same here. I guess HW means Hardware. Oh well. On another note I ordered an iCade and the first thing i'm going to do is put/mod 2 speakers in that bad boy for that official Arcade sound.
Noobish Question I know the NeoGeo works with the downloaded imame, will the Coleco Vision work? And Tommy III, you will LOVE the iCADE, and congrats for getting it.
Only the bootleg versions run in mame 37b5. Does anyone know why cps2/cps3 and a few other games "code" is in the driver file below? http://code.google.com/p/imame4all/source/browse/trunk/src/driver.cpp Starting at line 1304 it lists cps2 etc. I know cps2 emulation was not implemented in mame 37b5. I realise another emulator like FBA could be ported, but can cps2 be added to this version of imame as its based on 37b5,and if not,why is it there? From the Dev: Very interesting.
MAME only emulates arcade machines (with the exception of the Neo Geo AES in older versions like iMAME). ColecoVision is not emulated by any version of MAME except MAME/MESS hybrids like UltimateMAME, which is not available for any portable devices. Perhaps someone shrewd could get a port of ColEM through, if they could get permission from a freeware author like John Dondzilla to include his freeware roms.
If anybody could get the snes and playchoice roms working with there specific bios that would be great. Haha don't think its possible though
I"m not aware of any neo geo aes games being emulated in imame. They emulate mvs games which are arcade games. I still own nearly 100 mvs carts.
Go to dip switch settings, you can switch the games from arcade to home there. You can then change difficulty etc, depending on the game. Then again, with 100 carts you probably know that!
Cps2 and Cps3 had an algorytm of protection very very hard to decrypt. However the driver for these games were present in the old versions of Mame.
Ah,that explains it,thanks! I remember when cracking cps2 protection was proving difficult. Quite exciting times for emulation back then!
Found another issue. Zero wing doesn't display the player ship or enemy ships. Only the shots. Anyone else experience this?
