I think they are the same but we were just more trained back then They are pretty tough though...Isn't the average Donkey Kong game only a few minutes? They wanted you to just keep dumping in those quarters. I've paid for these games many times over so I don't feel so bad using them on iMAME and not having to JB is a huge bonus! Hopefully it will sneak by them again so more people can grab it! So cool to see the start up screens too when they load up. It's really amazing how well these hold up over time. Out of all the great new iOS games that I've gotten lately, I've been playing mostly these old school games and totally loving it on the iCade! Ahhhhhh memories...good times
True...This version of zaxxon moves way faster than c64 version. The hardest game to me is R-Type. But they all seem to give a pretty good challenge, especially with touch screen controls. I'm so tempted to buy an iCade. IMO Arcade versions were just as hard, some of us are just older now with slower reflex's. lol I can still finish SMB with one man though. Ha You can say that again brother
iCade, iMAME, iPad Anybody here get PEPPER II working? mine runs very slugish and has no sound, using the iMame from the apps store and a Non-Jailbroke iPad, OS 5
Hi, I got iMame the day it came out from the App Store, knowing it was likely to vanish soon. Anyway, having got it, I never used it and a few days ago deleted it thinking it would have synced wirelessly to my iMac overnight. It seems the app is not in my iTunes library, nor is it on my iPhone or iPad anywhere (you know, maybe I hadn't deleted it after all heh) and obviously I can't redownload from iTunes. Am I, to put it impolitely, screwed?
Just a quick message to you guys who have managed to configuring the controls properly... I can't delete the current button config (usually used to work by pressing the tab key in mame then it set that control to none!) using the virtual keyboard as I can't get that to show when I'm changing the controls...?? Also someone mentioned just deleting the default cfg file, this also does not work as it still maintains the original settings after a restart and after trying to configure the buttons the top left black button on my icade (to the right of the red button) does not register at all when playing...even though it registered when I pushed it at the config buttons stage???? Does anyone really have a confirmed way of doing this and making it work? And yes I was using the tutorial that was linked to earlier.....thanks guys!
If you knew it would vanish from the app store why would you delete it from your device? It doesn't take up much space unless you have it loaded with roms and even then unless you loaded all of them it doesn't use as much space as some of the other large games available on the app store.
Thats because they were quarter crunchers, designed to keep you pumping in your allowance since you had to go to arcades for this kind of gaming experience back then.
Hi, none of these questions are relevant really. I thought it would have synced and I was clearing off what I wasn't using a the time, that's all you need to know. The other guy confirmed I'm probably screwed, that's all I needed to know. Although he managed to slip a little DUH dig in, totally helpful. Cheers though.
Having a weird problem with my Icade and Imame. For some odd reason, my start button is the upper top left black button instead of the lower left bottom red button. This is default configure so it's pretty unusual. Anyways, for anyone who has been able to configure the app for 6 buttons (for street figher), can you please let us know you did it? From what I understand, it's Start + Option General Input (Change keys for all 6 P1 buttons) tap key, then tap "back" Back is the upper right black button right? Please help
Mr Ed209, Did any of your freinds close by download it into there iTunes? might be a way of getting it? PS just trying to help you out!
If its not been mentioned already, maybe could try some data recovery software and see if you can find the ipa? No idea if that would work but throwing it out there anyways.
Surely the iMame.ipa is the same for everyone, as long as the iTunes account is allowed to use it, then it's good ?
Search google for "iMame.ipa". If you find it, download to your desk top, copy it to your "mobile aplications" library and click on it to install in itunes. Might work since you purchased it officially through app store. Will do. searching for the best deal right now.
The Neo Geo games are awesome. Especially Samurai Showdown I, II, III, IV, and Metal Slugs I and II. Don't know why they haven't released these as individual apps on the app store, they'd sell like crazy. All the Neo Geo games are sweet, and with the iCade they're better than ever.
I said this myself waaaaaaaay back at the dawn of the thread. I have Metal Slug Anthology for PSP and it's the best UMD I own. It would be class on the iPhone, despite the lack of buttons.
Well I'm not sure who owns the rights to the old neo classics now? But most of these big companies are complete muppets when it comes to game selection for the app store....take sega..... When they could be releasing old "arcade classic" packs, what do we get instead......columns and football manager! Btw anyone have a solution to blackiepangs or my problem regarding the button config??
