Love those vector games. Start the game, press "Coin" and "Start" to get the service menu, go down to "Auto-Fire" and enter, don't change anything, exit by "Return to Main Menu". That should do it. If your joystick does not work in Tailgunner here is a partial fix, go to "Analog Controls" in the service menu, set both speed and sensitivity to maximum and "Y Reverse" to "On", the cross hair won't cover full screen but it is still playable. Enjoy.
Cheers again mate, no idea why I was in that screen but this has knocked me out. It's a great game. I think I'm gona get those cave shooters from the app store.
good choice! i have them all hahaha. we should support cave any way we can. they are quality software offerings.
Just wondering, has anyone know how to add the different skins the developer has given? I dropped it into the documents folder and it seemed to do nothing. That, or I don't know how to switch the skins inside the app.
I´ve got the same ipod with 4.3.3 but cant get acess to the documents folder. So I can´t play Imame there at all. the folders iexpolrer shows me are License,Skin1,skin2,skin3. No documents folder. Anyone understands why? My Ipad works perfect with imame.the documents folder is there.
Star Wars cursor offset Anybody worked out how to stop the cursor in star wars arcade being offset to the left, have played with some settings but no luck
Yes, works fine on my Ipad1.Just had to test some different roms.alexkida or alexkidd. One of them is working.
Yes. The zipped fix folder doesnt go into documents. Unzip it an add the folders inside to documents. They go next to the nvram folder etc. The skins one changes the splash screen to the old black mame original (which is a lot easier to read text on)
Service menu no longer appears... Trying to get the Williams games (Defender, Robotron, Stargate, Joust, etc.) to work and was able to press the "Coin" and "Start" buttons successfully to enable the service menu to get Joust to work. After that, however... it no longer appears. I have removed the config files, and finally in frustration, just deleted everything and re-installed. Surprise! It STILL doesn't work. Anyone else having this problem? [ dip switches, service menu ]
Defender (Red Label), Joust (Solid Red Label), Robotron (Solid Blue Label) - confirmed working. Robotron looks so good. Ahh the memories! Will try Stargate later today. "Track n Field" also rocks in mame.
Thank you. I must have inadvertently done the same thing... and will try your solution to fix. I've been googling for hours to get the service menu to appear after invoking it once to try and start up "Joust", but no joy after that single time. Glad I finally found your post! Edit: Service menu is finally appearing again, but it wasn't a cakewalk. If this happens to anyone else, the solution is exactly as described by Habakuk. In addition, the default.cfg file on your Mac is hidden away in an invisible folder. After you install MAME OS X, you will need to open a new Finder winder and open menu: "Go > Go to Folder..." (Or "Command + Shift + G") Enter: "~/Library" in the new pane to enter the invisible "Library" folder in your user account. After that, navigate to: Application Support/MAME OS X/Config/default.cfg. This is the file to copy back into your iMAME4all "cfg" folder (and overwriting the borked file already there.) Sheesh!
The word is that you can also delete the default.cfg file, hard restart the iMAME app and a fresh one (default.cfg) will automaticaly be created again.
