My esp ra de definitely works. Im playing it now. Add it with the nvram and completely restart imame. It should work correct way round.
Another question for you Mame Gurus. Whats the best shmups that work? I've tried Sonic Wings Dodonpachi R-type 1 2 3 Galaga Galaxian Pulstar Blazing Star Anything I have missed?
Maybe u can access the dip switch menu on esp and dodon if u remove the nvram. Make the changes then add again. Because both of mine work correctly but i cannot access the dip switch options. Btw u can access the dip switches in metal slug 1&2 and add blood to the game.
All the ones u mentioned and: esp ra de, dangun feveron, outzone, truxton/tatsujin 1&2, air buster, un squadron, sonic wings 2&3, moonwalker, prehistoric isle, twinkle star sprites, twin cobra/ eagle, varth, viewpoint, last resort, sunset riders! Are all good! Outzone and truxton 1&2 are particularly good. I have 1 coined all 3 of em.
Nah mate, I have tried it with and without the nvram, no joy. I can't access the dip switch's either. I think my phone has an aversion to this game On the good side, dodon works fine and is brilliant. BTW, When I go in to dip switch on MS 1 & 2 I see no option to activate blood? I can change the region or even change from home to arcade, but no blood.
Both of these load with no sprites for me, very odd. Could this be the difference between playing on iPad rather than iPhone. Silly as that sounds.
Anyone manage to get Turtles in Time working? Also any chance of there being a future CPS2 compatibility fix?
For metal slug blood. Make sure u have 3 stick buttons coz youll need that extra one to navigate menus. Go to Dip switch>test switch on> reset game>setting up the soft dip>metal slug slot>blood on> then using that 3rd button to exit setup> back to dip switch>test switch off
Ha, so simple. I have blood in Metal Slug now as well mate, it's a bleedin' massacre out there. Thanks for all your help.
Yup. Gotta love MAME! Lol Btw the sound is a bit better in thr bootleg outzone. That is my SINGLE fave game of all time. The music gets me so pumped! That and snowbros. Awesome nostalgia.
Thanks for the list, however it seems to show CPS2 and CPS3 games,as well as a host of other cool stuff! Are these games supported as well? I couldnt get the few ive tried working.
I always wanted to build a cabinet for mame but this plus the icade is a dream.. This is so cool i dont even feel the urge to build a full cabinet anymore! Thank you mame devs, the guy who was brave enough to make and submit the app, touch arcade for discovering and linking the app and apple for this christmas gift! This is hands down the best app i've downloaded this year and i hope my ipad never dies or i'll be pissed lol!
take a look here: http://greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=004719 no dip switches in dodonpachi but there is a service menu. however it is set to 'F2' by default so you have to change that to access the service mode in imame. what i did is boot the game, press coin and start to bring up the configuration menu then select 'Input (this game)'. once in the input screen use down on the joystick to get to the option 'Service Mode' once on service mode press 'B' button once and then choose a input to replace 'F2'. i tapped 'right joystick' and it set it. then choose 'return to main menu' and then choose 'Return to Game' now press and hold the input you chose. in my case i pressed 'right' on the joystick and held it down until the service menu appeared. at the service menu choose 'configuration' and you can edit the options you want. after you are done press and hold the input you set for service mode until it exits back to the game. now you have to go in iexplorer and delete the Documents->cfg->ddonpach.cfg file to get your normal controls back. there you go. now you can change the number of lives and difficulty setting.
I'm having trouble. the dodonpachi rom is upside down. how do i play it so it is the playing right side up?
nvram fix. it has been detailed on this thread previously. basically you have to create a ddonpach.nv nvram file using a pc or mac version of mame and then transfer it to the nvram folder of imame via iexplorer. or you can download the file from the message linked below from the developer of imame4all. he was nice enough to put the nv files in the zip. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2064922&postcount=388
