Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully you will be able to work things out with Apple. As to what can be shared on this thread, our main concern is links or names of download sites. It's okay to discuss how to install the ROMs, what ROMs works, etc. -- though I should note that most of that info is already on this thread. A big part of the fun with MAME is to figure things out for yourself .

Couldn't get Metal Slug and Metal Slug 2 to work. Got the 37b5 rom set. Is it possible at all? Also, could you people recommend me some good games from the 90s?
do you have the 'neogeo.zip' in your Documents folder? those games have been reported to work. i tried metal slug and it was fine.
I don't think I have, no. Other games worked without it though, even Punisher which is a relatively new game (1993).
Has anyone been able to get afterburner to work with imame? I found a romset that's compatible but the Sega afterburner game wasn't listed. Thanks.
punisher was a capcom game if i remember right. metal slug is neogeo and needs the neogeo.zip file to be present.
Yeh, you need the neogeo zip file mate, just treat it as a rom when using I file to put it on your phone. They play really well but do have some amount of slowdown. It amazes me that there are no official versions of this great game series in the app store. I would insta buy them all. Or better yet, release the anthology that was released on consoles and psp a while back, it was bleedin brilliant. P.s. I know about the crappy version of Metal Slug in the app store....it's just best forgotten. Edit, crap, iexplorer, not ifile.
Apparently it does, as it is working now. Though it's very slow. Even the first one which didn't have slowdowns as far as I remember. Is this to be expected?
no one has stepped up to release a proper run-n-gun of that caliber on the mobile platform yet for a few good reasons. just sit tight

just tried this alien storm --> crashes alien storm (2 player) --> crashes alien storm (bootleg) --> boots, accepts coins, but will not start after that i didn't try to alter any settings to get them to work, just a quick check
