Hoping i can put it on my ipad when i get it. I have it downloaded to my itunes account on my pc, so hopefully i can. Its kind of late now, but you could have downloaded it to your pc via itunes and transferred it over later. Too late now, but for next time.
Let's hope for everyone's sake that Apple drop the ball again. All it takes it good fortune for somebody to submit this and it go through then for the people that missed it, we're in business again. I do hope that Apple open their eyes here. This was for me one of the main reasons I JB'roke the IPAD before and the only think I missed when I went to V5 of the IOS. All they gotta do is open up a little more. I hate to say it, but Steve Jobs is dead. Time to move forward and stop the creep that is the Andriod OS and allow more flexibility for developers with this platform. He had a great vision, but he was also the George Lucas of hardware, do it my way or not at all.
Oh dear, it was to good to be true. so anyone knows what happen if we sync our ipads/iphones will it delete the app or actually back it up?
It stays. I had deleted it on the iPhone and then put it back after it was deleted on the store via iTunes, all is fine.
I hope it comes back as well, though I find it hard to understand how anyone who was interested in this could have failed to pick it up -- it's not like you needed a wifi connection. Apple is in a difficult position here, though. Their distribution model gives them central control of everything that is available on the platform (similar to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo with their consoles). Downloading and playing MAME ROMs is illegal in most countries, including the US. It is difficult for Apple to claim that they are not encouraging illegal activity when the tool is being distributed from their servers. (Some of you may remember the flack Apple caught from the record industry when they had the Rip Mix Burn campaign about a decade ago). Many of these same emulators have been removed from the official Android and Amazon Stores (don't know what the current status is on that). The nature of the Android platform allows for folks to install apps from other sources, though, which has both advantages and disadvantages. Google can afford to turn a blind eye anyway because ultimately their profits are coming from advertising, not from the direct sale of a product. With the release of iMAME I was hoping that Apple was beginning to treat the platform a bit less like a console and a bit more like a computer. I guess we'll see what happen in the next couple of days.
Any news on the reason why? We can all speculate, but it would be interesting if it was actually Apple the pulled it or whether another requested it be removed.
Thats why it was a get it while you can. Plenty of media sources reported on it. If you didn't get it then its your own fault. It was up for several days before being pulled. Next time when they tell you to download it now, just do it. Find anyway possible to get a copy of it in your itunes account, otherwise you will miss the boat.
If anyone knows which version of esp ra de works, please let me know. Been looking for it. Its not on the supported games list but i hear there is a version of it that does work. Nevermind, i found it. LOL The one for 37b7 seems to work, i just had no idea it was there. Ok no wi can't figure out how to get past the config screen. And its still upside down even with a new nvram file :/
ok after upgrading to 5.1 im happy to report imame works perfect and the rom set works.. rockin 1942 japan release. not checked to see the virtual stick can be configured or not.. if not will just take some getting use to it i guess.. but, im happy.. thank you apple for your gift.. you did let it go for longer than i figured you would. chris.
yeah the rom set for the gp2x all work for this. its like 2k of games.. more than ill ever want.. but its nice they are saved for prosperity.. the mame project has done much good. even tho i think we are winding down on rare roms and lost arcade machines.. last time i was involved with mame rom set thing seems they were on a slot machine/poker trend. which i totally was not interested in.. but, it is what it is. chris.
Sup guys. I have tested Mega Twins and it works. I have attempted to test Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom but they won't show up in iMAME .
hi, do not see it on the rom list.. not supported on the rom set for this.. maybe convert it? shrugs.. never tried that so dunno how one would.. anyhow the only marvels in the wiz rom list is: marvlanj "Marvel Land (Japan)" marvland "Marvel Land (US)" chris.
I used to have that rom set but can't seem to find it now. I managed to find the 37b7 set which seems to work just fine on all the games i've tested so far. I just can't seem to figure out how to get past the initialization screen on esparde and its flipped even with a new nvram file.
Ok sweet i got it figured out. I actually made a copy of the dfeveron nvram file and renamed it esparde.nv and it seems to work just fine now. No longer stuck on the initialization screen anymore. Guess the nvram file was the problem all along.
Take the rom and the nvram out. Then put back in. Completely restart the app then scan roms and try. It does work eventually
Yeah i was able to copy and rename one of the other nvram files and it works now. Figured i'd give it a try and see if it would work and it did!
** Options Button Crash Solution ** iPad Software Version has to be 5.0.1. Transfer purchases/backup Apps and update iPad through iTunes. If you don't do this you will lose iMame. Update to 5.0.1 and iTunes will then restore your Apps & Settings. Run iMame and voila... options menu is selectable.
I just tested a few more roms: Muscle Bomber (Works) Alien Storm (All Versions) (Does Not Work; The regular versions just crash the app. The bootleg version gets stuck on the title screen) Dynamite Dux (Bootleg) (Works) Altered Beast (Works although some enemies stay on screen after they are killed and the screen scrolls slowly) PuLiRuLa (Works) Ninja Kids (Works) Captain Commando (All Versions) (Works) Bomb Jack (Works) Bubble Bobble (Works) Crime Fighters (Works) Vendetta (Works) Final Fight (World) (Works) Donkey Kong (Works) Donkey Kong Jr. (Works) Pit Fighter (Works) Splatter House (Japan) (Works) Shadow Dancer (US) (Works) Shinobi (Set 1) (Works)
