Twin cobra. Hellfire. Battle Garrega (not recognized) Wired about ddp. It worked fine on imame4all but flipped on imame. Anyone know default setting for hellfire? Running too fast for me.
^Tiger Road Sadly couldnt get WEC Le Mans to work, just crashes iMame. Had some great games of Wonderboy last night, great little old skool platformer Thanks for the tips of shoot em ups. I've already bought DoDonPachi (presume thats the same one from Cave) and i want to support iOS devs. But any games which i cant get in the app store i dont feel guilty about playing them on iMame. Just wish original arcade companies would release their old classics (and decent versions, the 'legit' copy of Bubble Bobble i have is pretty dire, iMame is much better)
Hi, just read on the TA frontpage article on this app that people with ipad2's and ios 5 are not having the app crash after pressing "options" or "help"? Can anyone please confirm? Got the icade to work with imame but cannot select full screen mode as the app crashes after hitting "option". Thanks!
Hmmm tempting now to go up to ios5. Just worried so many of my apps wont work ! If you put your icade horizontally it goes full screen then, thats how i've been using iMame on my icade.
I'm on the latest firmware on an iPhone 4. iMame has never crashed even though I have been cocking about with the menu and options alot.
You need to understand Mame only runs games that were released in the arcade and even then only if support for that particular game has been added. Mario Bros works because this is the version that was released in the aracde. Don't try and get NES, Genesis, SNES stuff to run as it doesn't support them. There are specific emulators out there (Jailbroken only I'm afriad) that do a stonking job of playing the old console games. Mame is a fantastic project but only if you appreciate what it does, ie running older classic arcade games. Portable versions of Mame (this one included) mainly support version 0.37b5 Mame roms (which is an old version) so dont expect many games released in the 1990's onwards to work. Grab an Icade or Wii Remote fire up Donkey Kong and you're back in 1984!!
Totally agree, quite funny hearing some posts such as 'why wont Pokemon 2009 work ?' etc ! Theres plenty plenty of games which work from the 0.37b5 romset which are excellent, platform type games, scrolling beat em ups, shoot em ups and many other classics. Wide range of games, its brilliant going through the games and also getting tips from other people (such as some of those shoot em ups above) which i hadnt tried before.
Imame works perfect with my ipad. But with my ipod touch/latest Generation IOS4.3.3 I don´t get acess to the documents folder. IExplorer only shows me the Folders "License,Skin1,Skin2,Skin3" any idea how to get acess to the documents Folder here?
What version of itunes do people use ? Finally updated to the latest itunes. Now it wont sync ! Says "Cannt sync apps to the Ipod becuase the apps installed on the ipod could not be determined' ! Hope thats not to do with imame ? Can you easily go back to an earlier version of itunes ?
I've got some 2000+ games running on mine albeit many of these are clones of the same game. This was the reason I jailbroke my Ipad and I'm sorely tempted to finally update the pad. Might still hang off right enough as losing cracking SNES, Genesis and PC Engine emulators would be a sore loss. Iif you're an old fart on the wrong side of 40 like me then grab this and enjoy these classic games.
Not to mention iFile. With that I transfer all my roms to my iPad via SD card with CCK. No need to tether to a mac or pc for file transfer. Everything is done on board. Edit: After playing some of these mame games, yeah the graphics are cool but I still prefer some of the c64 versions Like RTYPE for example because of the kick axx sound of the SID.
Tommy, you mention transferring stuff via SD card to the Ipad, could you give me a few more details please, I presume this is using an adaptor of sorts? Ah, just Googled it, Camera Connection Kit, reckon I'll grab myself one of these, importing photos using Itunes is far too fiddly for my liking. Just picked up one for £5.20 delivered! (not official of course but will do the same job)
Well there is an 'official' Bubble Bobble app out there, i bought it a while ago, not great at all though which is a shame. Wished they would release an official Bubble Bobble app with a few sequels included. Thats the thing about 'piracy', i dont want to play Bubble BObble under iMame if i dont have to but Taito havent released a decent version. They could make a good bit of money releasing a Bubble Bobble app with sequels, variations etc but dont bother.
