But I wouldn't talk about my everyday life and such, I just want a place to post little short stories that make you think, stuff like that. While 99% of you will probably flame this post, I'd like to at least get a little help from people on how to "properly" start a blog (already created one on blogspot). What are the traditional things people do once they've started a blog. And while I know some of you will still flame, I still have my shield. Made of smilies. .____ . . . ... .... Flame on.
I used Blogpspot for a while . . . take a look at Tumblr and Wordpress. Much more polished in my opinion.
Use Tumblr if you LOVE HARRY POTTER MORE THAN LIFE and don't actually want to blog, but would rather "reblog" other peoples posts instead... which they themselves reblogged from another person.
Meh, Tumblr isn't anything special. Wordpress is too confusing. Blogspot is simple and is extremely customizable. Nice Choice, Rider. Link me, please.
Well you're main challenge is finding an audience, getting people to actually read your blog. So I guess spam the hell out of the entire internet with links? =D
Ya, I've already checked their's out, but that's not the direction I wanted to go towards. RttaM has a better one than ThePrez (sorry, it's true), but I don't want to post like news stuff and such, just things that come from me.
Actually I use Tumblr. Easy to customize and quick to update. Most people use it for posting Twilight gifs though.
http://appshopper.com/social-networking/tumblr I don't know why I'm bothering to post this, I don't even think much of Tumblr... but then I don't like most blog sites. I guess I just prefer it due to the Web 2.0 design.
I use a blog, where you can too post things, also videos, images - and other people can comment or dislike it's called Facebook
Of the lot, Facebook is easily the worst thing you could use for blogging. Although strangely enough it's likely to get your posts more views than anything else.
It definitely sounds like Tumblr is the place to go. I'm on there right now, and it is by far the simplest blogging interface i've seen. It also appeals to my extreme laziness/lack of attention span for longer posts. Some basic things about blogging: 1) don't pay for hosting unless your page is really getting big. There are many good free hosts out there, such as x10Hosting, Tumblr, Blogspot, etc. 2) You can get a domain for less than $10 a year usually. Search retailmenot for coupons/discounts. 3) Unless your site is private/protected, anything you post could be seen by basically ANYONE on the internet. Be careful what you say about people you know, friends, coworkers, and family. 4) Take risks and say what you think.
Okay, Tumblr is one of the blogger servers that I have known, even though it is not nearly as customizable as blogger, it is very cool looking and you can make it feel like your own. Also, they have a Tumblr app so it's easy to post from your iPhone, iPod Touch or mobile phone.
Absolute idiots would be the only people I imagine doing that. I have over 300 friends (more people I've met a couple times in the hallways than actual friends) from different schools, and no one does that.
