Well this is just a matter of perspective. While you look at your iPhone as a phone that also plays games, IGN seems to look at it as a gaming device that also takes calls. Neither viewpoints are wrong, they're just different ways to look at things.
Don't sweat the small stuff! and trust me reviews are very small stuff. Heck the dude can compare these games to the PS3 if he wants to it's his review. It's up to you and every other person in the world who reads it if they want to take his word for it or just read what info he has to say about the game.
Good points, guys. Reviews are written from the author's perspective for the reader, and the rating is just meant to help sum up the overall experience. I always review games with pros and cons. In fact, I have rated games must have that still have some cons and others a buy when I can't think of any. For example, Doom Resurrection for the iPhone was good, but it wasn't as fun as I was hoping, so the rating reflected that. It is just my opinion though. The content of the review is more important that the final rating. Civilization Revolution is a good game, but you have to admit there are some issues to be worked out. Once they are, it will be an easy "home run!"
Opinions are like assholes. Each has its own. Perfectly another reviewer can give a 8, 9... or 4, 5... The score of the game was not put by IGN, is only a review of a guy.
heh sorry I can't help it but this totally reminds me of Biff in Back to the Future. Make like a tree and get out. The second part of your bolded line is Everybody has one. Anyway your point is still solid and yes the points don't matter as someone else will either have a better rating or a worse rating. Although we won't be seeing any threads complaining about a score of 10
I don't know about that, people were ready to tar and feather me for posting that I enjoyed Star Defense.
Well, I just wanted to vent But, I agree it's just a matter of opinion when it comes to reviews. I personally have enjoyed both games on the pc and was thrilled to see both on the iDevices. I'm thankful that neither game (and actually combined together still less than sims 3) didn't cost a lot of money. Believe me, I would get worked up into a lather if I shelled out 20$ for either game and they weren't fine tuned to perfection. I truly can't complain about 2.99$ and 4.99$ (no matter what the controls) what a steal!
