Hey all, I'm Jason Pierce, the other developer and artist for Ignite. Just wanted to add my thanks to Pat's for the positive feedback. Especially for the nice comments about the art... makes me all warm and fuzzy inside . Also, wanted to add to what Pat said about the direction we went with the controls. The control scheme was designed to take full advantage of the touchscreen. Platformers have been done before, and while its one of my favorite genres, I wanted to do something a little bit different than your standard run-and-jump. I think you'll really like it. Jason
That's all well and good, but there aren't any well done or even decent platformers on the iPhone itself right now. I'd just like to see a proper platformer with direct controls, great mechanics and great graphics done right, otherwise everything is a bunch of ho-hum Toy Bot games. I see where you are coming from though.
likewise jFND- no word from Apple yet. Based on what I've heard from other people about the time it takes them to approve apps, I'd guess this Thursday would be the soonest you could expect to see it. We'll post an announcement in this thread as soon as we hear anything. thanks, Jason
Aw, it's a "Little Rocketman" style game. I would've liked to fly the little fireball around at set things on fire Oh well... Sound effects are amazing, though.
Ignite is now available for purchase!! Ignite on iTunes App Store Thanks for your support! Jason Monster Gila
I've bought it, but iTunes is screwing up and won't let me download it. So it'll sit in my Downloads section for a while, though I just wanted to tell you I bought the game. I thought it'd be cheaper but hey, the game looks fantastic. $3.99 AUD, I'll give a review once it's fixed.
