I used to love jumping on the 360 and playing mwf2 or gears/halo etc...

But the convenience of having a handheld device with 300+ games at my finger tips is just plain awesome! I find myself playing on my iPhone while I'm playing mwf2... lol - I get spawn killed about 10x before I remember to pick up my 360 controller again. :D

The iPod could never replace consoles for me, in fact since the slew of new releases on consoles this year I haven't used my Touch as much.

Not sure what that has to do with what I said...

Not saying a lot of titles aren't coming out, but its still not better than playing on the 360 or PS3 for me.

All of those titles(or experiences similar to) can be had on consoles for a much deeper experience, which is why it would never ruin console gaming for me.

Sorry i meant to repley to the first post.

True, console games deliver deeper gameplay, but you cant play a ps3 anywhere you want.

But some itouch games feel pretty cosole like.

Actually my Touch has been the big draw for me to purchase a 42" Panasonic plasma tv (w/latest tech) yesterday. I will be getting a PS3 within a few weeks as well. (Can't wait!)

I'm assuming I will continue gaming with the Touch because the games are epic and great for on the go. But will continue to play even while at home because some the games between the two vary and I simply just like to play on my device.

in the time I've owned my itouch, I've bought my first 360, had it RROD, repaired it, and had it RROD again.
And my itouch has got... superficial damage to the back and 2 small screen scratches?

Sure my wii still works fine, but I kinda tired of it a long time ago. Galaxy, Twilight Princess are finished and shelved, Mario Kart is pretty much the only thing I still play. New Super Mario Bros was a lot of fun thou, but why why why was there no online play?
Whereas if I ever feel tired of my itouch, I just go download a new game for 59p

So I wouldn't say igaming has ruined it for me, consoles have. Whilst I admit the 360 was a lot of fun, I really didn't feel Live was all it's cracked up to be, and having it RROD twice just left a sour taste in my mouth (and my wallet). I only really own a Wii to play Nintendo games, and they trickle out too slowly for it to really get a lot consistent attention from me.
I prefer the last gen consoles a lot over these new fangled ones.

Hmm, I'm not having any special problem separating
the two forms of gaming: When i'm on the bus/sitting
and waiting for something, I whip up my IPhone and fiddle
around with it, when i'm at home/at friend's houses I plan
myself time to play some ps3/computergames. So casual gaming and (hardcore) gaming is pretty much separated for me

I fall back on my iPod, but if I'm at home, my 360 is always gonna win. And I don't know why, but I like physically getting a game, unwrapping it, and putting it in. It makes the anticipation and finally playing it (since I usually wait a while before getting the game I want) all that much greater. Downloading it and playing cheapens the experience for some reason. God I'm a nerd.

This actually makes perfect sense and never really thought of it this way.

    Okay.....

But with an itouch Or iphone you have instant access to 100+ games insantly. No need to buy a shelf to hold all your 360 games on and no cartridges to carry(ds and psp).

I think It much more hassle free. You just get on itunes and download a game without laeving the house. It doesnt cheapen the experince, just makes it easier.

I said it as an opinion, not as a fact. I just prefer the act of going out and getting my physical copy of a game then simply clicking "download".

I have to agree on the pleasures of unwrapping a new game. I don't get the same consumption fulfilment from buying idevice games, or even ordering a game online (although waiting for it to arrive is fun, and it's usually cheaper), that I do from buying a game from a store and walking/driving home as fast as I can to play it.

    True, You have point there.

What I meant to say is that the game itself is more important than the way it came.THis is my OPINION.

I agree that holding the game in your hands
is more satisfing, but to me it doesnt really matter all that much. All i want to do is play the game. This is my opinion.

lol@using "you have to buy a shelf" as a negative for console gaming.

Consoles, whether it's my 360, or Wii or my DS will always be played more than my iPod Touch. That's been true since I got it about a year ago. For me it boils down to two things: 1) controls-they will always be better on an actual gaming system, and 2) battery life (at least for my handhelds). As games get more complex, and more detailed graphically, the battery life decreases exponentially.

Consoles will always be at the top for me.
