Oi thanks for bumping this. My updated list: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Polara or Boson X Planet Quest VVVVVV or Adventure Time Game Wizard Knights of the Old Republic Right now im going with the following criteria: Unlimited replayability, zero consumable IAP (Planet Quest is the only 1 in my list with IAP, and tis only to remove ads), and a huge amount of variety covered between each title in terms of gameplay, genre and aesthetics.
Same here. If I remember the beginning of the thread right (I'm too lazy to check), the premise is that you have no internet and can never update anything ever again, so online games pretty much are pointless. Although, now that I think about it more, Bonza would run out of being fun pretty quickly without the daily puzzles. I'd probably actually do: Solebon Solitaire - it's Solitaire... come on True Skate - less a game and more an endless toy Doodle Jump - some things never change; I wanted this to be the DC one, but I need it updated a lot first Don't Touch the Spikes - I don't know, I just like this game Marvel Pinball - I have all the tables and pinball is fun
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Kingdom Rush Frontiers Chaos Rings 2 Final Fantasy Tactics The World Ends With You (WHEN IT WORKED. THANKS SQE)
Hmmm.... In no particular order: Leo's fortune Beat sneak bandit / Planet quest Marvel contest of champions Prison life RPG Goblin sword / Boson x
My list is informed by the consideration of longevity and replayability, casualness, and challenge. These are all games that have stood the test of time and found a permanent home on my device and pose a significant challenge without requiring lengthy playing sessions. 868-HACK by Michael Brough Review This is an elegant and sophisticated Brough-like (i.e. a Roguelike by the incomparable Michael Brough). It incorporates several layers of strategy upon the original gameplay formula and is set within a beautiful system hacking themed environment. The game poses much difficulty and I have yet to complete it. I will probably be playing for many years to come. Boson X by Ian MacLarty Review A gorgeous level based Auto-Runner with a particle acceleration theme. It is also very difficult and I will likely be playing this for a considerable amount of time as well. Dungeon Raid by Fireflame Games Review The classic and in my opinion still unrivaled Match-3 RPG. It has never left my device and never lost its charm. Forget-Me-Not by Nyarlu Labs Review Aptly described as the love child of Pacman and Rogue, this game features a charming pea-shooting Pixel. I do not know if the levels are actually randomized but it feels like I have never played the same map twice. Space Invaders Infinity Gene by Taito Article This is Taito's brilliant 21st century rendition of the classic Space Invaders and my favorite shooter. I recall playing a final Boss, but I don't know that I ever actually ran out of levels. The custom music generated levels also contribute to infinite replayability. I recommend trying a Canabalt-themed level.
Going off the focus on replay value and genre variation... Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Wayward Souls Geometry Wars 3 Asphalt 8 Threes
Doug dug Alto adventure Super Worm Desert Golfing Monument Valley The Endless Gameolay is perfect, non linear & never boring.
I'll play -Minecraft PE, love playing with my four kids with their iPads. Full server of five adventuring around, mining and building is just too much fun. -8-Ball Pool, say what you want this game is perfect in every way IMHO. Fun playing the higher end tables and give purpose to the gameplay. Cues that have different powers add to the collecting/customizing experience. -868-Hack, again this one is perfect in every way and can be played in short bursts or long. -Hearthstone, while I'm not that good and haven't built a large collection I love this game. Rounds are fairly short and has a great mix of luck and skill -Hoplite, once you get the mechanics it really opens up and you can go deeper if you wish. Also has some nearly impossible achievements if you want a real hardcore challenge. Love it! Had to leave a bunch of really great games off the short list, but these could keep me busy for years and years to come. All play great on the iPhone or iPad but if asked to do a iPad only list it would be a little different. Geometry wars 3 would be on that list somewhere for sure!!!
Right now I'd go with: Dragon Quest VIII Chaos Rings III Star Wars KOTOR RBI Baseball 2015 Broken Sword But I'd switch RBI Baseball 2015 for Football Manager Handheld 2015 once the Premiere League starts up again.
Best Fiends Pocket mine prince of Persia (just because of nostalgia) Ironkill (Just started it, don't want to part with it yet) Clash of clans (Liam Neeson got be back to this game.)
