Ok guys, here's the third iDrop Dead contest, and again you have a chance of getting your creation into the craziest ragdoll game there is! Here's what you need to do: create a level or 2+ with the supplied flash level editor on your PC, and post your creation to this forum in text format (open the save/load dialog in the editor and copy-to-clipboard). Rules: * You need to own the rights to the contest entry, be its creator, and can give the rights to us to use it in our Drop Dead games, free of charge. * Post your work here (the level data in text format). * Don't use too many objects or iPhone just cannot run it. * Give your level a name, e.g. "Easy slide by ttursas". If you don't give your level a name, or it's inappropriate, we'll rename it. * You can submit as many entries you want, but you can win only one prize. * We'll (me and Jyri) choose the entries that make into the game. * Deadline is Monday, 30th of November 2009, 23:00 Finnish time (GMT+2). Here's the clock: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/europe/european-union/finland/time.htm Prizes: Everyone who gets his level into the game will win an iDrop Dead t-shirt. The creator of the best level will get a special bonus. For more information about iDrop Dead: Flower Edition, check out the official thread here @ TA: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=30082 ... or visit our homepage: http://www.ttursas.com You can download the editor from this link: http://www.ttursas.com/iDDFEEditor.swf For best performance, download the editor file and run it locally. Note that not everything in the editor looks or works like in the game, but they are pretty close... Good luck, ladies and gentlemen!
Beware, the editor's not very user friendly, but I don't have the time to make it shine atm. Perhaps I'll update it later, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. It's based on Drop Dead: Final Cut's editor, so if you know that, then you can use this easily. EDIT: "NP1" in the items bar means that you create the corresponding item by pressing "1 on numpad".
Wow, I'm so going to enter this contest--If I don't win are you by chance going to be selling iDD shirts? I really want one EDIT: Just checked out the website--didn't know you just released a new game! DL'd the gold edition just now for Perfect Balance: Lost Trials
Thanks! I hope you like it. Oh yes we are selling those shirts, too, check out one of the older posts on our website: http://www.ttursas.com/ But it's better to try to win one in this contest first, I think. ... What about you other guys, any levels done yet?
Alright I have a level to submit. I'm going to try to post at least one or two more for the contest. Hope you like it. Its pretty basic but I think it's fun. Took me a few minutes to get the hang of the editor but I think I have it down now.
Hey, that's quite a fun level! Yes, I like it! ... BTW people, I forgot to write there on the instructions screen, but if you press 'C' you can change the character.
I'm glad you like it, I tried to model it after the style found in the game atm. There are a few different ways you can toss the ragdoll around to shred it up without overcrowding the screen with items.
I'm trying to make levels, but each time I start, I end up playing around so much that I don't manage to accomplish anything! I have a few ideas though, and really will try to get a level or two submitted...
Copy the text in the file, open the editor then click u, clear the text in it and copy mine in its place. Then click use and it should load my level.
When you are done with your level click u and "copy to clipboard" then open a notepad file and click paste and the same text will appear there-then just save it and you're done-that's it as far as I can tell. Hence why my upload was in a .txt file. "np" means number pad-aka the 10-key found to the right of the qwerty keyboard.
The Meat Grinder Here's an obvious level design, but the placement of the blades is rather good if I do say so myself-theres a few different ways to shred in this level. I specifically set the blades to push and pull you along for maximum ride wherever you toss. I think I might tweak this one a bit more-do something with the landing at the end anyway. Cheers! EDIT: Just did another playtest and I got the dolls head continuously spinning between the giant blade and the blade in the top right corner-what a hilarious blood effect! Man I love this game lol.
